  1. I have not, and when I test it here I am not able to reproduce it. However my sample is just a few random 3D shapes cobbled together. Class Options are set to Show/Snap/Modify Others? If you move the Autohybrid to a new blank file by itself, the same thing occurs if you change its class?
  2. I hope so. I have many test machines here that I would love to wrangle into my own personal render farm. I have used TeamRender directly before and it is excellent.
  3. Unfortunately we won't be able to implement that directly in Vectorworks for the time being. Maxon currently reserves that functionality for C4D only, not software packages that license their rendering engine as Vectorworks does. Using the TeamRender system from Maxon is the only way to do this locally at the moment, after exporting from Vectorworks to a copy of Cinema4D.
  4. Well the front viewport could be rendered in regular Final Quality, while the rear viewport could be rendered in Hidden Line. Or do you mean you want the image props to appear as line drawings as well? Viewports can have their own separate render settings, so one can be set to use color while another is not via two different customized render styles.
  5. Perhaps duplicate the viewport in place, then in the front viewport show only the classes of the props you want to have obscuring the hidden line rendering that shows only the classes of the non-prop objects underneath? Unless I am misunderstanding what you are going for.
  6. Apologies, I have almost no experience with Vectorscript. I have had other users report similar problems, at least they seem similar to my layman's eyes: https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=202805&Searchpage=1&Main=40802&Words=script&Search=true#Post202805
  7. (Assuming you mean the Mac Pro discussed earlier rather than Macbook Pro) You could install it and it would run just fine, it would only use one of the graphics cards however. It wouldn't NOT work, it would just leave one of the GPUs idle.
  8. STL is the standard interchange at the moment for 3D printers, with Youmagine, Thingiverse and other websites hosting primarily this format. In order to modify existing models, one needs to be able to import STL files and then export them back out again for printing. Currently Vectorworks is unable to import STL files natively, however there is a free utility that will let you convert STLs to 3DS which Vectorworks can import: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/1265/Importing+STL+files+into+Vectorworks
  9. For me it worked in 10.9.4 and then gave an error in 10.9.5, that may have triggered it.
  10. Getting very odd behavior with this one as well, either beachball/hourglass or missing geometry or broken lighting. Testing further now. UPDATE: No clue whats going on in this one. Doesn't seem related to textures, geometry isn't far from 0, changed the fill and pen to various alternatives for the Rectangle and tried other configurations for the wall objects and I am seeing objects not rendering on Windows and long-term beachballing on Mac. Submitting as an issue now.
  11. In a test here I did not get blurry results with 2D geometry, tested Lines, Rectangles and 2D Polygons: [img:center]https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=11211&filename=2d%20polys%20and%203D%20geometry%20in%20FQRW.PNG[/img] Could you send any one of the files you see this in to tech@vectorworks.net? I can have a closer look.
  12. It should not if it took 12 hours on an i7 Macbook Pro. Currently I believe the cut off for renders is 24 hours and the virtual machines they spin up to perform these renders are quite well spec-ed.
  13. Checked with engineering, apparently Maxon reserves network rendering for C4D directly via TeamRender. We are not able to implement it at this time in Renderworks. For the time being, the file would have to be exported to Cinema4D and rendered via TeamRender in order to take advantage of networked CPUs. http://www.cineversity.com/vidplaytut/new_in_cinema_4d_r15_teamrender/
  14. With the drape! Nice! I had tried it with the site model directly and got no joy. Thank you bcd!
  15. It may very well have, yes. I know they are handled differently during PDF and Printing for sure. Could you send me any file from 2014 that has any/all of those fonts in it? I can have them take a look and see if it can be cleaned up.
  16. It looks like the machine is using its integrated Intel 4600 (which is below the minimum GPU requirements and likely will not run VW at all) rather than the more powerful GTX880M. You should be able to manually specify the superior card via these steps: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/1207/Improve+OpenGL+and+Wireframe+performance+-+Windows+only+-+Nvidia+graphics+only
  17. Having sketchup should not hurt or help SKP import. But unfortunately versions older than 2015 did not have the ability to import the textures/colors/materials as well as the 3D geometry. Give the Vectorworks 2015 demo a try with SKP import and see if you get the results you're looking for: http://www.vectorworks.net/trial/form
  18. I do not see the same delay, I tried a test of 3 cubes and it exported to 3DS within .8 seconds, both as extrudes and after being converted to 3D polys, exported with maximum export quality. Could you post the test file you saw a delay in, as well as a screenshot of your export settings? http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/892/How+to+take+a+Screen+Shot
  19. If the fonts were mapped manually in 2014 the same mappings may need to be added to 2015. Open 2014 and go to Tools > Options > Vectorworks Preferences > Display > Edit Font Mapping, if your fonts appear there mapped to something, the same mappings may need to be set up in the same settings location in 2015.
  20. Unfortunately Vectorworks can not yet take advantage of dual graphics cards, other than that the specs of the machine in the original post are excellent for running and rendering in Vectorworks.
  21. I have requested it many times, I have a LOT of older machines sitting idle here that I would love to throw at a rendering. They may only have one or two cores each but all together I could be rendering with 48 cores! I will add this thread to that request. To shorten your render though: 1) Make sure that if you are using Blurriness, you need it. It dramatically increases render times. 2) Try with only one bounce of indirect lighting, sometimes it gives nearly the same appearance as 3 or four but takes much less time. 3) Often settings of "Very High" in your render style can be set to "High" and the render will look nearly identical at 300dpi or less, but reduce render times.
  22. Currently I know of no way to do this this kind of controlled asymmetric scaling to a 3D object in Vectorworks. I have seen this in other applications, I THINK one of those was Blender, which is free and worth a look: http://www.blender.org/download/ To go from Vectorworks to Blender, I would recommend exporting 3DS or STL.
  23. Rename the DWG to "test.dwg" and retry the import, let me know the results. This is an odd one, apparently the "E" character in the name is broken. I was unaware that letters in file names could be broken... learned something new today.
  24. Apple changes their signatures with OS X updates sometimes, this will fix it: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/1032/Vectorworks+Installation+Fails+to+Launch+-+OSX+10.8+Mountain+Lion+and+10.9+Mavericks
  25. Send the following to me at tech@vectorworks.net please: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/627/DirectX+Diagnostics+and+System+Profiler and we can have a closer look.
