  2. quote: Originally posted by buz ottem: The modifier icons for my 3d reshape tool are not showing up when the tool is selected. Anyone know where they went? buz The icons are only shown if a 3d object is selected. If no 3d objekt is selected and you pick with activated 3d reshape tool a 3d object the icons become visible. You want to move some objects and want one end of a line moved together with them? Use the 2d reshape tool for this purposes. Look at the manual for it's use. HTH, Hannes

  5. I use win 2000 too, and have also no troubles with VW. No crashes, VW runs fast and stable. Absolutely a recommendable OS. Hannes
  6. As NNA's official stated the upcoming release of VW will solve the accuracy problem by having floating point precision (right term?- my sad english:-) Hannes

More results of the speed test are on Julian's Homepage(look at the upper right corner/ free software): http://www.zeta.org.au/~jbcarr/ Buy the fastest CPU you can afford(no matter if P III or AMD) and put at least 286 MB RAM into your PC- the more the better. 8. Yes it has, use the 2d reshape Tool from the 2d palette. You can select several Objekts or parts of objekts ( also dmensions) an move them with the mouse or the move command. Look at the manual about the 2d reshape tool for further details. Hannes
  9. I'm not sure if you're aware about, but VW has it's own script language called Vectorscript which let's you develope nice tools.... Hannes
  10. Select the menu command 'create Report' in the organize- menu. Set the dialog as following: List all: Symbols check the box ' Summarize items with the same: Symbol Name If you have nested Symbols you have to check the option 'search in symbols' at the options dialog. for more details look at the manual;-) HTH ( and i hope it's understandable;-)) Hannes
  11. Quote: GET OFF THE MAC PLATFORM! <gg>- Nonsens i think. Certain i understand NOTHING about Macs, but on Windows i had the same problems with the ATI Extensions. Hannes
  12. Use the paste shortcut ( ctrl + V). HTH, Hannes
  13. This feature has been disabled in 8.5.2 because much users didn't like it. I believe (hope) it will come again in VW 9 with a preference for turning on/off. Hannes
  14. Look in the Vectorworks folder \VWHelp\Onlinemanuals. There's the pdf document called "v8dtm.pdf". HTH, Hannes
  15. quote: Originally posted by DCarpenter: Does VW allow me to filter out what I want to select. If I want to select every object on the screen that has a green fill, or green lines (attributes) can I do that? Couldn't find anything like this in the Manuel. The mentioned custom selection tool allows not to select by criteria of the selected object. I am working on a tool which does this, you'll find a preview version on my website, its called 'select all Objects by the criteria of the picked object. It's not finished yet and there's currently no documentation, so mail me if you need some assistance. 16. quote: Originally posted by Jack Fulmer: Same thing occurs under Win2000. The Task Manager generally reports 100% CPU usage whenever VW is running, even without a file open..... ... I'd be curious to see whether or not the CPU usage is different with a machine running VW only and not a VW/RW bundle..... I also use VW and RW on win 2000 and have never seen this happened. Its curious.. -Hannes

  18. As i remember, you have to deactivate all ATI Extensions- i think... HTH, Hannes
  19. Which Quicktime version are you using? Have you tried to update to version 4.1? Hannes
  20. At http://www.nemetschek.net/addons/general.html you'll find a free command called 'point to point'. Try this, it may be what you searching for. HTH, Hannes
  21. quote: Originally posted by poiron: You can do this yourself! Just set up a page the way you like and save it as a Template. Then the next time you open a new document you can choose it from the list in the dialogue box. Yes, and if you save your template with the name 'default.sta' in your Templates folder, VW uses this document as standart everytime you launch it. Hannes
  22. Sorry, i misunderstood you. The Protractor tool measure angles. It would be indeed very fine if the tape measure tool would also show the angle of the last segment. Hannes
  23. quote: Originally posted by Archken: I wish the Measure Tool can measure angles in D-M-S. go to the menu Page>units, set the angular Precision to D-M-S HTH, Hannes

Lots of room for pallets, etc. With another graficcard you can use your second monitor. As i remember W2k supports up to 8 or 9 monitors. -Hannes
  25. I think it would. Also usefull would be if VW could snap to the Bounding-Box of the objects, and the option to grab and move objects on their bounding-box corners/edges. Hannes
