  1. Do you mean the Foliage tool?
  2. I have taught at Montclair State and have several students from there working professionally and using the software. I have and am teaching at Rutgers MGSA. Not sure about the last batch and these are all freshmen.
  3. won't a simple 3D object work? Then auto Hybrid or add a 2D component
  4. yes, Data Viz would probably work, but I think they are just now getting the idea of clasing.
  5. I guess my problem is I have curtains that touch the floor. They should have a solid line, I have curtains that trim out at +18' and they are above the cut plane and should be a long dashed line.
  6. that doesn't sound like an actual over ride and pretty complicated for first year students.
  7. When I created the objects, I chose to use the default classes. I then copied the softgoods-Curtain class to make three classes for Legs, borders, and full stage drapes. They have no fill and a blue stoke, set by class. in the attribute palette they all show they are set by class. Additionally, I clicked set all attributes by class.
  8. I am teaching using v2022. I am showing the softwood tool, and I cannot seem to get a class over ride to take effect. I would like the lines, In plan) to be dashed. That does not see to work I have also tried changing the color of the geometry. Is this a bug? Operator error?
  9. Adjusting the Value in the HSV dialog doesn't do what you want?
  10. I was going to suggest the same, not sure if Graphic Legends supports this, but I think Graphic Legends have great future potential.
  11. For the room scan, Photogrammetry and etc. what iPhones and iPads are supported? Android users probably have similar questions.
  12. In the sweep preferences, make sure the sweep angle is set to something low, lies than 1° it looks like it's set to 90°
  13. In my mind, the schematic view of a vertical boom pipe would show what we think of as the top/plan. In your example of some units facing 'front' and some facing 'back,' the schematic plan would show similarly, but with the forward or back orientation indicated. Much like the kind of 2D representation I've always created for booms.
  14. Mark, I think I saw your post and thought it quite a workaround. Accessories must be included. Of course, I think VWX defines things that aren't actually accessories as accessories. The 2D components need Loci. I need to be able to yoke back, out, or up. The 2D body needs to move with focus. I think VWX has long thought SVs are 'done,' while the users have never been satisfied. With all due respect to your ability to make them work. I always ask how can I explain this 'feature' to a new user. If I imagine the new user's eye rolling backwards in their head, there is a problem. With SVs, I see eyes rolling, no spinning, like in a bugs bunny cartoon.
  15. Very well presented, but I disagree with you about bonus features and ANY workarounds. No one should have to think about how to get a schematic View, and to be clean, I my opinion, the SV should generally use the top/plan 2D component. Your valid point about the top view above noted. Maybe the concept of 2d components needs to be brought to lighting devices.
  16. also, why can't uses control and map the classes provided by VWX. This is a problem that has been searching for a solution for years. @markdd has one, @C. Andrew Dunning has another. In neither case, the symbol libraries aren't set up to do this.
  17. select the truss tool and then go to the drop down in the tool bar. that route accesses the truss in the libraries. I'm not sure off of the top of my head if what you want is there, but this route willed you bring objects onto a document. You do have to insert an instance of each objet, and from then on they are in the RM. Save a template file with your inventory.
  18. the only reason would be the QR code. I also wonder if the text tools need updated code? I would like to se the MacOS spell checking integrated. I have not idea if there is any similar windows functionality
  19. VE-103257 VE-103256 VE-103258 VE-103259
  20. A VE is a "Vecrtorworks Enhancement," or a feature request.
  21. I think you're looking at VEs for the Graphic Legend, I have had similar requests.
  22. Sorry. I do not want to have to work that hard. I also do not want a new feature, odds are that willet gummed up along the way. The tech seems to exist in VWX already. The key is getting the tech into the worksheet WITHOUT having to create a new tool that only creates a ToC. The reference marker, I might have the name wrong, does this. Place an arrow, point to something, link in the OIP to a viewport, move along. Move the viewport, change the sheet number, etc, the link updates.
  23. Maybe a 'back' button, returning to the ToC, where ever it is placed could be in the title block? As long as that does not further slow the title block objects.
  24. I set the Design Layer Scale close to what my Sheet Layer scale will be, just so I can preview how sheets will look.
