  1. I am working on a file where we have movable gantries. I have built the entire room with design layer in 3D and for this post each gantry (as we have 2) are on operate design layers. From the design layer, I then have a sheet layer that shows a blown up version of each gantry and the side view. In our space these gantries can side. If I move one or both of the gantry to a new position, the viewport gets updated where they are overlapping with other viewports on the sheet layer and now I have to readjust all of the spacing, and re adjust the Drawing label placement. Is there any way that is I move the design layer for an updated placement, It updated that viewport, in regard to what is on the gantry(s) but does not affect the position, spacing, and sizing of the viewport.
  2. Yes I agree. I am also a user currently that uses Vectorworks, but not lightweight. I have made my own software to do so, but I still do plots, drawings, and magic sheets in Vectorworks, and having the Gobos and color wheel be able to be populated on a designer layer or sheets layer in the correct order, shown in a wheel would be very very useful. Thank you for the info.
  3. I am making a magic sheet in on a design layer, and I am wanting to show the gobos, and color that are listed in the movers that I have placed on my plot. Is there anyway in a design layer or on a sheet layer to insert the Gobo Wheel(s) and Color wheel in order and in gobo wheel shape. I'm look to place it similar to how user manuals place them. I know I could google search for he correct wheel, but as Vectorworks already has the correct gobos and color in the wheels when I placed the fixture, I was wondering if there is any way to just place the information on to my layer.
  4. Hi Tom, I have looked at schematic views, but they are not what I'm looking for in this case. I will take a look at viewports. Thanks D
  5. Hello, I have made a hanging position with a single line and an extruded circle as a pipe. I have made the hanging position so when a user is in Top/Plan view, the hanging position is shown as a single line, and when the user moves to a 3D view (front, right, back, etc.) the single line goes away and the 3d pipe is shown. I have also made it that the 3D pipe is in the correct location, but the 2D line is flattened out, making it that everything can be seen on a plot size paper, but when in 3D, the pipes are in the actual locations. So far I have that working. Where I'm having issue is when I attache a lighting instrument to it. In 2D view everything works as it should. I can place the instrument on the lighting position and everything goes from there. The 3D view is where I am having the issue. When I move to a 3D view, the lighting position move to the location in which I set, but the lighting instrument remains in the same spot. Is there a way to have it so when I place the lighting instrument in 2D plan view, it works as it normally would, but when I move to 3D view, is move to the same location as the lighting pipe. I am working with Vectorworks 2019.
  6. Hello, I am building a 3D version of a space and we have many lighting pipes that are stacked vertically. For example pipe A, B, C; with A = 20' from floor, B = 22' from floor, and C = 24' From floor. What I am looking todo is the following. When I am in Top/Plan view, the lighting pipes are going to be a single lines that goes up the page with spacing. When I move to any 3D view, I would like the pipes to show as pipes in their vertical stacked orientation. I have somewhat figured this out as I have a line and a 3D pipe both created when a make a hanging position, Where I fall into issue, and I'm not sure if this can be done, Is then I place a lighting fixture/Device, I would like to to show on the single line on the Top/Plan view, and then when moving into 3D view, have the light hang on the 3D pipe. So in a way its showing a schematic view. Also when I do this I place the light on the 2D pipe, and then I switch to a 3D view, the pipe moved but the lights don't. I am working with Vectorworks 2019. I have tried the lighting pipe ladder took, but that is not doing what I want to it do.
  7. I am trying to make a custom title block, and I am following the steps listed on the website. I make everything the way I want it, but after attaching the records, not all fields have data, like sheet of sheet. and then they are giving the wrong info to. I am working with 2021 and all of the videos, or guides that I can find are for earlier versions. I am also having an issue adding it to the libraries. I am following instructions, but it does not show in the library.
