Available Plug-In question.

I see the Plug- In "Elevation Benchmark" in my VWX Spotlight 2022 Plug-Ins folder.

Yet, the tool does not appear in my Workspace Tools. Can't add it.

 

Is this because it is a tool only available for Designer an/or Architect?

Vectorworks Help contains a full list of the tools and commands that are available for each product.

And according to that table, the Elevation Benchmark is not available in Spotlight.

boo. I received a drawing for a show I am working and made some edits. Need to modify some of the existing Benchmarks.

Oh, well. Will find a workaround.

Have you tried ungrouping the object?

This will expose the primitive objects within the Plug-in Object.  While you'll lose the "smarts" of the Plug-in, you will be able to manually edit the text and other objects manually.

Also be aware that ungrouping Plug-in objects like this means they will no longer be present in the file when opened in Designer or other product that supports it (they will only see the primitive objects in the file).

Or if you ever need something like an Elevation Benchmark it's simple to make your own.  

 

In the old days (3 years ago) you would use a symbol with text linked to a database.  Now it's just a data tag with manual fields. 🙂
