Dendecko
I have inserted a window into a wall but the wall is staying solid in VWX 2022. Any thoughts as to why? Is there a setting I need to add for the window to cut into the wall like it used to? Quote Link to comment
Andy Broomell
Do you have this button ON in the mode bar? (The same icon exists both for the Window tool when inserting new ones, and for the Selection Tool for dragging around existing ones). This controls whether objects can be inserted into walls or not. The OIP should say "Window In Wall" instead of "Window" if done correctly. If you do indeed have a "Window in Wall" and it's still not cutting an opening, then let us know. 2 Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Another possibility is that you have duplicated the wall in place. The window is cutting one wall but not the second. 2 Quote Link to comment
Dendecko
@Andy Broomell I checked just in case and I do have insertion activated. @Pat StanfordI checked and don't have duplicate overlapping walls. Not really sure but I haven't done this in 2022 before since I downloaded it like 2 days ago. In 2021 was not having this issue. Quote Link to comment

Matt Naylor
Hey I am having similar issues except it occurs when I have multiple doors and windows in the same wall. I am at a loss! Wall insertion mode is selected.....not sure what to do! See the two images attached Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
When you select one of those multiple doors/windows does the OIP say In Wall or just Door/Window? If it says Door in Wall / Window in Wall, check and make sure you don't have duplicated walls. Hold down the option key and draw a marquee across the wall. If the OIP Says something like 2 Walls then you have duplicated walls and need to delete one of them. Choose carefully so you don't delete the one with the doors/windows. Select the topmost one and Send to Back and then click to select and you should get the one the doors/walls are not in. Quote Link to comment
Rick
" Hi Mat I was having the same problems. More then one window (or door) in a wall and it doesn't generate holes in the wall anymore. Restarting vectorworks does the trick. It's a bug. (VW 2022) Edited October 2, 2023 by Rick Quote Link to comment
