hollister design Studio 55 Posted Tuesday at 11:56 PM I'm interested in what people do when designing outdoor kitchens in Landmark. When I had the trial designer version I thought I just dropped a sink on a countertop and it cut itself in - but in Landmark I'm not seeing anything like that. And my google-fu seems to be lacking when it come to finding ANY tutorials on how to cut a sink into a countertop. Anyone have a good workflow for sinks and countertops? michaelk 508 Posted Wednesday at 12:08 AM I use floor objects for countertops. That way there isn't a line in plan view at every base cabinet and you can have custom shapes for peninsulas and islands. Just draw a shape and clip the floor object. Quote Share this post Link to post
hollister design Studio 55 Posted Wednesday at 01:38 AM @michaelk OK, so no door or window like inserting. And no auto updating if I move, scale, or replace the sink symbol? I'm fine with that, I just want to use VW to the fullest extent that work with my workflow! Quote Share this post Link to post
michaelk 508 Posted Wednesday at 02:07 AM No, it's a totally manual process. But I'm not aware that the native countertop ever did it either. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
bgoff 164 Posted Wednesday at 02:03 PM @hollister design Studio use standard 2D poly to shape the countertop. use any shape to create the hole or holes. Extrude shape. This allows for easy manipulation of original geometry and addition or subtraction of any shape to the countertop. As a note I then create auto hybrid. and create a symbol. Just my workflow. bgoff 164 Posted Wednesday at 02:05 PM Also I am not a fan of using floors for countertops. Why??? Because do you like preparing food on the floor?? 🙂 Quote Share this post Link to post
michaelk 508 Posted Wednesday at 03:00 PM You would prepare food on an extrude? 😃 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

michaelk 508 Posted Wednesday at 07:02 PM @bgoff What if you're making homemade pasta and homemade sausage? Just extrudes on an extrude? Extrudes all the way down? 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
