Christiaan
Do you think it's possible to create trees like this in VW? Quote Link to comment
unearthed
Are these trees to be 2D billboard type or 3D trees? Quote Link to comment
Kizza
Image prop? You could create a VW Plant (Landmark) but you still need an image prop for the 3D component. Quote Link to comment
VincentCuclair
C. I was going to suggest Dieters stuff but his homepage doesn't seem to work anymore..... www.dworks.be I seem to recall he had created some similar visualization symbols. (My bro is a professional illustrator try him, www.kukler.com, for the props ) Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
are the isymbols close? http://www.isymbol.eu/elevation/vectorworks/vectorworks-elevation-bundle.html Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
Those are nice Jonathan but too detailed for what we're after. Might have to make our own image props if I can't find Dieter's. Thanks guys. Quote Link to comment
VincentCuclair
Perhaps you could use 3D blobs (irregular volumes) add a green color and render?! Quote Link to comment
VincentCuclair
I don't know if this is just available in designer but I found these 2D props: Edited June 27, 2014 by Vincent C Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
That's a shame, yeah only available in Designer (and perhaps Landmark). Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted June 27, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 27, 2014 I am pretty sure everyone above is familiar with how to create Image Props, but in case anyone coming across this thread is not: http://www.vectorworks.net/training/getting-started-guides/renderworks/Gsg-2014-r06-creating-image-props.php Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
Here's some more graphics I'm interested in. How do you think this is done. In an illustrator/photoshop? Or rendered? Or somewhere in between, like VW stipple. Quote Link to comment
Kizza
My guess would be in photoshop with an image overlay for the grass on it's own layer and the unwanted parts erased. This can be done very loosely with a hard brush then using a soft brush for the edges.... Quote Link to comment
jmartinarch
Christiaan Those site plans look like they could have been done in PowerCadd. It has some pretty good illustration tools for 2d. Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
I never had any symbols like that. I have used those that come with VW once long ago, the ones Vincent C talks about. I do have made 3D trees myself for fast rendering, but they don't render like that. The best option for those trees are image props. Quote Link to comment

A CAD tool better than Vectorworks at 2D non-realistic illustration? That's interesting. Quote Link to comment

Guest Wes Gardner
@Christiaan - it's all Vectorworks...I've taken some of our stock stuff and added color, gradient, etc. I'll happily share... Quote Link to comment

Christiaan
A colleague made a nice job of making our own in Photoshop. You're welcome to use them: https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=199914 Quote Link to comment
