Cadplan Architecture
is it possible to join walls of different thicknesses end on like a butt join? For example like the attached? Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Not as far as I know. You'll need to annotate over it to add the missing line. That's a good wishlist item. Quote Link to comment
Cadplan Architecture
Yes it's quite a basic VW omission after so many years of the existence of walls! Andrew Quote Link to comment
taoist
How about align by component ability? Quote Link to comment
VincentCuclair
The Wall Join in L Mode will do that.......if you have auto join walls active it will be done automatically. Edited August 17, 2013 by Vincent C Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
Use the wall join L Mode like Vincent says. It works. I know it feels strange as it isn't really an L join, but it works. Quote Link to comment

VincentCuclair
Yeah though this is true, it would be nice for everyone if this type of knowledge was more readily available, in one form or another (our help system is notoriously unhelpful in this regard i find....) it makes you wonder how many small useful items we still don't know about. Though i write L join perhaps we should call it the 'end to end' join, that would be more correct. Quote Link to comment

Maybe VW needs an in-application help system, or whatever they should call it. Like some sort of windows that shows the user some possibilities on the current selected tool or current step of a tool process. Something like you have in SketchUp maybe? This would help many users to get the most out of the program. This window could also contain tips to create special things, or tips to better understand things that happen, like extra lines in hidden line renders due to the fact that a wall component has a corner on it's end.... Kevin McAllister
You can right click on anything in Cinema 4D and choose show help. It automatically takes you to the help info about what you clicked on. The help window floats above any other C4D window and can be minimized without resetting itself (read as not crappy like Adobe Air). It works with almost anything - tools, menu commands, interface items etc.. It is easily the most integrated help system I've seen. Kevin Quote Link to comment
