cameramam555
Anyone out there know why my windows are not flipping in walls ? I know it is not file specific as it is all windows in all files? Just need to click a setting somewhere..... thanks C5 Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Do you mean you click the flip button and nothing happens or there is no flip button? If there is no flip button in the OIP then the window isn't really inserted into the wall. Quote Link to comment

michaelk
Can you copy a wall and window into a new document and post it? Quote Link to comment

Farookey
Hi... Just so you are aware... Walls in VW have an outside, and an inside. The 'left' side is always the outside. Baring that in mind, you need to reverse the sides of the wall in order for the outside of your window to face the outside of the building. I'm not saying the 'Flip' shouldn't work, but as a general note, this is preferably how you should draw... HTH Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
Looks to me like maybe the window tool now strictly adheres to keeping the external face of the window pointing to the left side of the wall. Don't know when this came about. So, as Farookey points out, reversing your wall direction will resolve it. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
The window IS flipping, But the sill is not. If you change the open angle to 90 and hit the flip button you will see that it is flipping. The sill seems to be tied to the left side of the wall. mk Quote Link to comment
cameramam555
On the upside, I suppose this allows for inward/outward opening windows yet the sill remains where it should. Thanks all. Quote Link to comment
barkest
Just to resurrect this one as I have been looking at this myself. The left-hand side is the outside wall and if you reverse a wall any windows/doors will respect the reverse. For flip window it does work for existing windows in walls but only for the open. Tricky to explain but the jamb and sash do flip BUT any texture will remain as is (although it does oddly realign). For example if you flip a window the interior jamb texture remains interior. Flip window works when you copy a window (alt + drag) to another wall. example: place a window into a wall and add interior architrave. It will respect the left as the outside. Alt + drag the window to another outside wall (not the same one but another that is travelling in the opposite direction) and you will see the interior architrave is now on the outside. Press flip and it will correctly go to the inside but then flip is back to working as above. Quote Link to comment
