VWUser2335
Has anyone worked with geo-referenced images. I have files in iTIFF format or regular TIFF with TFW files. Can I load these in VectorWorks? Quote Link to comment
monkey
yes you can, i use georeferenced image files all the time, it should scale and locate automatically Quote Link to comment
VWUser2335
Hi monkey, how do you import them? My VW2009 doesn't recognize the iTIFF extension. Quote Link to comment
Uli
Hi mleitner, for me it works only, when I import the image with the tfw associated. Geotiffs are not recognized. The imported image is limited to a certain size ~5.000x5.000 I think. VW 2010 Landmark Quote Link to comment
monkey
sorry, should have made myself clearer, i use the TIFF with the TWF georeferencing file, havent used iTIFF before. all you do is drag and drop into VW, or maybe use the import image function if 2009 doesnt support drag and drop, cant really remember Quote Link to comment

zeno
Hello everyone, i reopen this old topic because i have an issue about this argument i have already imported some TIFF files with .tfw references, but every image have a black background (see attachment). How could i remove it? Quote Link to comment
Art V
This shouldn't be happening, it could be the result of rubbersheeting the tiff file to georeference it as that can create borders around the actual area at times. It looks like the projection is getting a bit wonky for some reason. Do these black borders also show if you open the tiff file in an image editing program like photoshop or affinity photo or something similar? You could remove the black background if it is also already in the tiff file by selecting the area with a selection tool and "delete" it to transparent or white, but it is really important to NOT change the file by actually deleting pixels as that will cause the tfw file and the tiff file to no longer match and will cause incorrect positioning and scaling. Another option could be to crop the imported tiffs in VW to get rid of the black borders, make sure the borders of the cropping objects have no line width applied (i.e. line is set to none in the attributes palette) Quote Link to comment
