Patterns misbehave on printing!

Any time we use patterns instead of hatches we cannot get them to print right. They usually end up solid black.

Would love to make use of them but currently that is not an option.

Any suggestions? - Perhaps an errant setting I am missing??

Okay, now I see that this problem has been discussed before on the forum with apparently no resolution.

The six dot patterns are okay to use with Export to PDF if you have the option of Export patterns at on-screen resolution on.

i have always had problems with patterns, and if you have too many on one plan then it all goes a bit mad when printing/exporting.

i stay well away from them, i would spend some time making a library of similar style hatches, its possible to recreate the same types of patterns as hatches, can be a bit fiddly but is possible.

On a mac, instead of saving as a pdf, the most common form of printing, export a postscript file at a high resolution. Then distill it using the distiller. At enough resolution, you will get the patterns back.

During prohibition my great grandparents had a distiller in the barn.

But I don't think that's what you're talking about.

What kind of distiller do you have?
