Tool set and Basic Tools HAVE VANISHED...

Tools are gone, and palettes are on. How do I fix?

Also, is there a smart way of extending several lines to another, this does not work if lines to be extended are all selected and are at an angle since spacing is altered...

if your tools are gone, the menu bar:

window > palettes > Basic

for extending lines try this web site for a podcast...

sometimes mine don't show even though they have a check mark beside them indicating they do. I have to uncheck them and then go back and check them again to get them to reappear.

Have they been dragged of-screen? Perhaps using dual displays?

Maybe try starting up just the application without opening a file, create a new document and see if that reverts the palettes to a default state...

But if they're offscreen in the document in question this wouldn't neccessarily help. hmmm, Just guessing.

try changing your screen size to a smaller screen resolution, then start VectorWorks

Try the following:

1. Change to another workspace and then change back to your original one.

2. Obtain a copy of the same workspace from another user and replace the existing one in your Workspace folder (make sure it is for the same screen resolution).

3. Reinstall the program.
