  1. I am seeing this sporadic behavior when users press the "Install All" button, is that what occurred? If you restart those machines entirely then just pick one of the smaller libraries on its own, does it download or get stuck queued? The "Install All" button got me a similar fail as Matt. For three libraries listed, the first one showed some activity that never went anywhere. It never really started the d/l. The other two libraries showed "Queued". I force quit the manager, rebooted and d/l'd them one by one and it worked fine that way. jadp.
  2. I have run across this - in v2013. The channels on two-fers were not updating from changes in LW. Single units did update correctly. It had not always failed this way - but it did fail reliably on at least one draw. My workaround became: select the two-fer, delete the two-fer (it and the channel + container go away), and then redo the twofer with the gang tool. Then it picks up the 'new' channel. 2014 has been behaving so far, with only one show under my belt on it. updated sig: VW 2014 MacBook Pro 2.8 Ghz Intel Core i7 16GB ram - OSX 10.8.5 I guess it doesn't auto-update a changed sig in older posts - or not right away...
  3. Maybe try starting up just the application without opening a file, create a new document and see if that reverts the palettes to a default state... But if they're offscreen in the document in question this wouldn't neccessarily help. hmmm, Just guessing.
  4. I'm having the same problem w/12.5. I have had to delete the ganging and re-do them. Luckily I was just moving a couple booms so there were 2 or 3 twofers per... My workflow is such that I move a lot of stuff around before I do any twofering. I mainly move things around so there is room for the 'gangs'. Ganging is one of the final things I do so this doesn't impact me horribly. Still, it'd be nice if....
  5. In LW, when importing did you use the "Suggest Matches" button to match up the column headings between VW and LW?
  6. Sure. A lifetime. I'll see how it goes. I am still so excited to be jumping forward. Thanks again for your thoughts. reidj
  7. Ahhh. Understood. Thanks for the quick reply. That's unfortunate. Is there a viewer that would allow looking at older drawings (8.5.2)? The largest value is looking at past work for reference purposes. Then, there are the base plans and sections of our spaces which do get used repeatedly to develop new work. I guess redrawing those will help the learning curve for Spotlight, eh? Before I lose access to Classic (on my older G4) I may try exporting to dxf from the 8.5.2 Then I MIGHT(?) be able to import into Spotlight. Does that sound like a possible route? Thanks again for your help. reidj
  8. I am making a similar move as Don who started this thread. I am jumping from VW8.5.2 to Spotlight 12.5. Both are MAC versions in my case, from the old system 9 to OSX10.4.8. Katie wrote: If you are using a professional (not student) copy of VW, then it should open file. Both of my copies are/were educational. Will I not be able to open the 8.5.2 files in 12.5? I am still waiting for delivery so have not yet attempted this. Thanks, reid
