User-B
The file is from Spotlight 2023 but opened in 2024. When I set the Brightness % above 100% it snaps back to 100%. Even on lights that were set above 100% from the original 2023 file the values are still above 100% until I try and change them then they also snap to 100%. Thoughts? Also created a new file in Spotlight 2024 and the behavior is the same. Edited October 8, 2023 by User-B additional info Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted October 9, 2023 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 9, 2023 This is working as designed. From the lighting device we now only allow you to set the level to a maximum of 100%. You can set it brighter by editing the light directly. As we me move forward it becomes more important that the lighting device intensity values are between 0 and 100%. Quote Link to comment

Kevin Allen
@klinzey Can the intensity of Vectorworks light objects still be set beyond 100? Restricting Spotlight lighting devices to their defined brightness makes sense. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted October 9, 2023 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 9, 2023 @Kevin Allen The intensity of Vectorworks light objects still be set beyond 100. @User-B We are working toward the lighting device modeling real world lights. Controlling the intensity of the light in the real world is limited to 0 to 100%. As we export the Vectorworks model to other applications, import data from other applications, and plan for more control in Vectorworks we need to more closely model the limits of the real world fixtures. 3 Quote Link to comment
User-B
@klinzey If that includes IES files as part of the Lighting Device... YAHOO! 2 Quote Link to comment
ilijahmora
@klinzeySo how do we make fixutres brighter now? Often times during the design/sketch process, a quick way is needed to stomp out a visual.. and being able to multiple the brighness percent or crank up the emitter was the ticket. How do you suggest we do this now? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee jcogdell Posted January 16 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 16 @ilijahmora You can still turn on the use emitter option and increase the brightness value of the light in the light information tab of the lighting device dialogue (select the light and use the edit button in the OIP). 1 Quote Link to comment
