Moving edges of solids

Is there any way of moving an edge of a solid? eg. in the screenshot I would like to grab the top right edge of the rectangular solid and lower it to create the tapered solid. It is something I am used to doing in FormZ and is very useful. I feel sure that it should be possible in VW but cannot find out how.

Yes. Use the Taper Face Tool in the 3D modeling Toolset.

Yes use 'Taper Face' tool in 3D Modelling tool set. You need to first select the face you want to be the pivot point then the face you want to taper.

Thank you. I have tried this tool but am finding it difficult to control to get what I want and wondered whether there was an easier way. If not, I will practice 😀

Does your object need to remain a solid?

 

 If not, just convert it to a mesh, move to a side view, marquee the top corner and drag down.  Short video below explains.

No, but it's an excellent WishList candidate.

You can move edges & vertices of SubDivision objects (& meshes as above) in this way.

In your test-case above you could Modify>>Convert>Convert to Subdivision and drag the desired edge to location. Once done you can Modifiy>Convert>Convert to Generic Solids if desired.
