simple line problem

domer1322

Question

I know there is an easy answer to this, but I can't remember ......    when I insert a door PIO into a wall and set to "opening", the OpenGL and RW renderings show white lines (or black lines) around the opening.  How do I get the lines to disappear ?     (I thought it had something to do with setting the door classes, but I can't figure it out).   See the attached image.

Yes, annoying, still.

AFAIK it sits on a special Class, which you would not expect ...

But I forget about which Class. But AFAIK  it was not the annoying

"sills" Class that is always generated although all potential Sills are

assigned to other Classes.

(Maybe it was the "ceiling" Class or so !?)

I am not seeing this + try as I might can't find a way of replicating it!

Do you want to post the file?

Maybe it was fixed at one point ?

That would be great.

If thread starters signature is correct he is working with VW 2015.

At that time and later, these ghost lines in render modes were still an issue.

Hi Class must be set to Solid for a texture to appear solid in 3D.

He meant the opposite.

To have Doors/Windows in "Opening only" mode to not show any

visible lines at all.

(Maybe VW needs something to pick for Selection of such Opening only

Windows/Doors in Wall ?)

It is (or was) just that that ghost geometry resides on a Class you would

not expect. Once located - you can switch these lines by that Class OFF.

thanks for the help ...    I went down the list, and turned off every single class and could not find an offending class.     I am working in VW 2015 but recently purchased VW 2023.  For a bunch of reasons, I can't check it out in VW 2023 for a couple days but will transfer the file and see if the ghost lines still exist.  Hopefully, they'll disappear.          More to follow .....
