  1. Hello, when I create a publish set of sheet layers it's all well and good, but if I change the name of one or several sheets, these names do not update in the saved publish set. To illustrate, let's say I have a sheet named Building B - Section A and B. I save this in a Publish set along with my other sheets. Later, for whatever reason I decide to move Section B to another sheet and so I rename the first sheet to Building B - Section A. This is automatically updated in my sheet list on the left side of my Publish dialogue, but it is not automatically updated in the saved set. Now, this means I have to manually locate the changed sheet in the set, remove it, re-add it, and then re-save the set (which is in itself not easy since I have to re-type the exact name without guidance). Even worse with a large project like mine. I really hope I am missing something, because the absence of this basic functionality is costing me a lot of time, and is frankly embarrassing for any BIM software. I'm sure I'm not the only one to have noted this but I haven't come across it searching this forum, hence this post. Any recommendations would be more than welcome. Thanks!
  2. Totally agree! Moreover, changing a sheet name means I have to remove it from the set, add it again, and re-save the set. Completely unbelievable that this is the state of this software.
  3. This feature is still sorely lacking as far as I know. Would it really be that difficult to implement?
  4. I agree that this is very frustrating. I only found out after having made lots of spaces in a rotated view and now practically being unable to edit them properly. So please, Vectorworks, since every other tool seems to work fine in a rotated plan view, perhaps spaces could follow suit soon? Thanks!
  5. I have a similar problem. I've rotated my plan by approx. 54°, and when I try to draw a line and lock it to the rotated view's cardinal axes it works fine. However, when I try to drag the edit points of a Space it snaps to the cardinal axes (and subsequent angular subdivisions) of the original coordinate system of the file. Any news on how to resolve this issue? I'm using Vectorworks 2024.
  6. Hello everyone. I have a problem with placing a window above the layer cut plane and how it is displayed. Attached are images and a file of an example that I pulled from a real project. The red window is made using the American Window tool, and the blue one using the custom menuiserie extérieure add-on for the French version. They are both placed 3050 mm above the layer level, and the layer cut level is set at 1000 mm. The US window (red) is displayed despite it being above the cut plane, while the French window (blue) is hidden as it should but it also hides the window below it with the filling of the wall. I really hope that I will not have to split the wall vertically and put them on different layers to ensure their proper display in plan. I've had similar problems in other projects as well and I just cannot believe that this is just standard behaviour from a professional software like this, so I'm reaching out to this very nice community for help. Any tips welcome, thank you so much in advance! I'm using the French version of Vectorworks 2024 Update 1.1 (Build 724920). Sans Titre 1.vwx
  7. This should really be addressed for those of us who want vector drawings with fill colours. Using the polygon mode is lacking due to clashes with the applied materials.
  8. It is strange that this to my knowledge still has not been resolved. I want to use materials in my model for obvious reasons, but some drawings, notably façade elevations, has to be coloured vector drawings and I cannot use fill colours to achieve this while I have materials applied. The shaded render mode is not a vector drawing but an image. The hidden line render mode does show line colours but not fill colours. The polygon render modes clash with the material textures, because they only show the fill attribute and this I want to use to control the section appearance of the materials (like in walls). If the hidden line render mode could show surface hatch fill colours as well, this would be perfect. Thanks!
  9. I'm also having this exact trouble and I would appreciate any help. Since I want to use materials in my project for obvious reasons I cannot use the shaded polygon render mode to get the coloured effect described above (believe me I've tried a million things), and so I thought I could turn to this "workaround" but alas! only the line colour of the hatch changes, not the fill colour. Would this be too hard to fix in an upcoming service pack? Thanks!
  10. I'm still having this issue in VW 2023 SP6. In this situation, I've got several openable windows set in a curtain wall which is in turn set above a conventional wall starting from a height of 3 000 mm, while my cut plane is set at 1 000 mm. While the curtain wall itself does not show in my 2D plan, the inset windows do. This is rather ridiculous. Of course, I could put the windows on a separate class or layer and hide them, further clogging my file with unnecessary bureaucratic divisions (and please don't tell me to swallow this and use filters), but what is then even the point of a cut plane? Snarky remarks aside, I would be very grateful if anyone has found a solution to this problem and could point to it. No luck yet trawling the forums. Thanks, and all the best!
  11. To be manageable curtain walls would need to: implement an easier and more precise way to move mullions. (Besides, the selection tool is often buggy, especially for panels.) make it possible to place mullions by division of the total dimensions of the wall (in addition to the current distance based input). be editable without reverting to the settings defined in the grid settings dialogue box. As it stands, if I create a curtain wall and add or move some mullions manually, if I then change the mullion profile width or increase the total curtain wall height, the grid reverts to the settings defined in the dialogue box (which is incidentally also the place where you edit the profiles). I'm using VW 2023 SP6 on macOS Venture 13.5.2.
  12. I absolutely second this. Mullion manipulation is surprisingly/embarrassingly difficult and imprecise.
