I got same problem on Vw 10 & Vw 11 + OS X. 1. Speed on Vw on OS X is still slow. Even on my current G5 2.5Dp + 3 G Ram + 23" Cinema Display. 2. Snapping effeciency on Vw 10&11. Most of the time, I have to zoom closer to AVOID any mistake / snapping off by 0.3 - 0.7 mm. I notice accuracy improve on Vw 10& 11 compare to 8.5.2 but have to zoom closer means it create new problem for me. 3. Snapping response also bit slow on Vw 10&11. I have to wait for cursor to lock the target for most of time. It slow down my working flow. 4. Not only me .... most of over 100 Vw User in my office keep complaining about it to me. Nothing I can do to help..just let NNA know about it. G-Pang

The huge advantage for Vw is it can produce presentations, Authority Submission, working drawin, etc just in one go. In our office.. I give everybody a freedom to use any colour as they like., as long they use office's classes naming. I just wrote few script just to convert colour to suit any specific task. Just wonder if Layer overlay feature can added with percentage ratio as Adobe Illustrator. We will improve our presentation .... specially on landscape drawing. G-Pang

I'm second Petri. For me, Project size is not problem with Vw. It depends on method of using it. Currently I'm running a $1.4b project. Never face any problem as mention by Jckii. currently we have over 200 staff and 80% of them using Vw and workgroup reference doing very good jobs in this case.The feature suit our need, symbols can be control by workgroup reference and many more.. something Autocad don't have. Vw just meet our needs and we have done billions dollar projects by using it. So... project scale is not the problem. Just keeping learning new things and improve your skills / technique. G-Pang

Thanks.. It workss on Vw 11 but not on Vw10. Meanwhile.. it still not same as extend tool because it work deference as what i'm looking for. G-Pang

I second tgm, I think we should keep the extend tool because it just works deference way. It sucks... to click 30 times just to extend 15 lines. Connect/combine work fine in other situation but not with multiple lines..I means a lot of lines. Window Selection some times are applicable in very complex drawing. It is good if FENCE feature to be added as Autocad has. It helps a lot to reduce number of clicking. I use script by Katerina ( and modify it to work with wall ) to resolve the problem but it doesn't work for other than 2 point objects. And face some problem while group editing. Extend Tools....I miss it and want it back. Click..Drag....Click..Drag....Click..Drag....Click..Drag.. ..Click..Drag....Click..Drag....Click..Drag....Click..Drag ....Click..Drag....Click..Drag....Click..Drag....Click..Drag.... I dont want to do that. G-Pang

We had same problem before. The only option I found... Set a larger scale on page setup/vectorworks. For example 200% means you will get 2 times for print area, 125 inch turn to 250 inch. I think you should learn purpose of importing dwg files and the tricks. Importing dwg not only for purpose as you mention. Have you try import a survey plan with GPS coordinate + bearing etc. Think about it. What informations are important here? How you want the imported file to be looks like? If you don't want to screw up you current VW file. Simply import it as symbol. G-Pang

Since earlier Minicad version.... VWA always import DWg files through a blank file. Only VW 11 allow you to import direct to current active file. It it not recomended ( by me , not NNA ) unless you willing to sacrify or coordinate setting is not important for you. I had read about it somewhere but cannot recall. The artical has mention about it. I will try to find it and let everybody know. G-Pang

Tom It's depend on how the dwg file has been drawn. You will get same coordinate as original dwg file after import process. I don't think it is VW error. If you want to get as what you mention. Please go to Autocad first, correct the coordinate and then import it into VW. I think you know what is X, Y, Z means. TQ, G-Pang

I like the feature offered `Change Wall Thickness Command Changes the thickness of selected walls while maintaining correct wall joins. You can specify which part of the wall remains fixed (outside, centre or inside). NNA should make it as VWA standard or make it as free plug-ins. It unfair for us who have paid NNA enough for over 80 VW licenses but don't have such important feature. NNA should be more sensitive on it or start loosing non-Australian user. How can I get the command tool? Why only Australian VW Architects have it? How much they pay for it???????????

Spooling speed to plotter / printer is about 5 times faster under Windows compare to Apple. So.. It better to spool from Apple -> Windows -> Plotter You shoul try print a large file form both OS and will notice the speed.
