  1. So we seem to have some gains and losses! Gains: Layers Clip cubes Losses Gimbal/gyros can't give you direction as you walk through Can we get back the navigation by pointing the camera? Am I missing something?
  2. If you tap the button top right the iPhone will use the giros to aim your view according to your camera orientation so you can walk forward and rotate the camera to aim where you are going. This works well imho! I agree with requests for lines, views, clip cubes in walkthrough views please!
  3. These are UK licenses There is a transfer fee of £150 + VAT payable to Vectorworks but that is waived if you take out Vectorworks Service Select at the same time as transfer PM me for details or further info
  4. I have 2 personal Vectorworks Designer licenses for sale (now called Design Suite) This includes all features of Architect, Landmark and Spotlight am open to sensible offers over £2500 + VAT per license
  5. i know this is slightly off topic but linking to 3D viewing I wish the 3D connexions device worked as intuitively in Vectorworks as it does in Sketchup!
  6. The 3D model view was the one I was thinking of particularly rather than the 2D sheet view in Nomad and in a web browser on a desktop machine. There are different requirements for the 2D sheet view compared to the 3D model view... Perhaps we can chime in with suggestions for both? Would that help @inikolova ?
  7. On another thread people mentioned some much better apps that do the same thing. One was sketchfab and I tried that - it was very very good indeed Often when these things are re-engineered we beta testers get no input as to what is important in the re-engineering. Is there any chance that we can have some input? In my mind the Nomad viewer should be as close as possible to the likes of Twinmotion or Enscape in terms of ease of walking around and changing Sun etc. and of course the rendering should be as good as is possible on a mobile device! Off the top of my head here are some of the features I would like: Saved views (including the associated clip cubes, class and layer settings etc) Easy navigation Collision detection Automatically opening doors??!! Adjustment of Sun position via time of day Clip cubes I am sure there are more ideas that others will add... By the way - automatically opening doors inside of Vectorworks when in the walkthrough tool would be very cool don't you think? Especially if that could be transferred to Twinmotion on export!! Hope this is helpful and really look forward to Nomad becoming world class rather than sadly lacking!!
  8. presumably someone has put this on as a Feature request?
  9. just tried adding a plant image using the data tag tool and this failed.. is this WAD (and therefore not possible) or a bug?
  10. Would be great to be able to add a subclass without typing the Parent name each time So if the parent name was selected when you clicked on New or else right click on the parent name to make a new subclass
  11. Can one crop a DTM afterwards in the same sort of way?
  12. Really good to hear! So wherever we are choosing a resource - especially attributes we should have the option to make a new one, duplicate or edit - yes? Jim - really appreciate your good communication across the forums!
  13. Slightly off topic but haven't managed to hear any positive feedback on this. I find it really unnatural that one can only create new resources in the Resource manager Surely it is very natural to want to create a new hatch when browsing hatches in the Attributes for instance? Please can we have this ability? You know it makes sense!!
  14. Pat Thanks for this - it helps a bit.. It is a slightly quicker way of doing it but with bi-directional spreadsheets I could attach the data to my objects much quicker but lack a way of putting this data back into the resource browser symbols I have a library of some 120 components needing specific price info and then having done all of these I find that there are another 80 or so that are nested symbols using the individual symbols - if there were a way of transferring the Record values of some placed symbols back as defaults I could do the job in minutes rather than hours) Many thanks anyway - this has certainly reduced the time! Steve
  15. Can any bright spark tell me how one can transfer Record format data from a placed symbol back onto the same symbol in the Resource browser. The only way I can find is very laborious - unattaching a record in the resource browser, filling in the record data then re-attaching the Record. I can fill in a whole lot of data on placed symbols via bi-directional spreadsheets but then I want all this data back on the symbols is the resource browser. Am I making sense?

  17. Nick I checked this out and think that it is as follows: 1. If your slab is on the inside of the walls then you should have no trouble 2.If your slab is on the outside of the walls and in 3D embeds itself into the wall then you won't get a line in hidden line mode where they intersect. You can get a similar result with 2 extrusions that intersect each other - the intersection line would not be drawn in hidden line...
  18. There are a couple of positive things to say here 1. If you want your duplicates to go from beginning to end of the path - make sure that Start offset is set to 'distance' and '0' then it will go end to end. (If you are draw path mode this is greyed out but still makes a difference - a bug - workaround by choosing the first mode and setting the distance to zero as above. 2. The duplicate object is place by its centroid By adding a locus point to the duplicate object you can 'counterbalance the centroid' and thereby adjust the point that goes on the path (simply delete the locus afterwards) If any of that doesn't make sense email me!
  19. Nick Yes I agree - this would be a good option together with my previous suggestion that the camera should be linked to a saved view- both these could be check-boxes in the object info of the Camera and/or Viewport... Hope you are getting on well in your finals!!
  20. Katie Yes I have tried Radiosity and know it quite well too. But you don't always want the renderering overhead of Radiosity... All the other rendering solutions that I know very well - Artlantis, FormZ and Cinema 4D all have both soft shadows and Radiosity with bags of control.. As I said in another post though - well done for the implementation of Radiosity it is one of the best out there!
  21. Katie You working at the weekend too! Yes - the snap points come up when you are within 5 pixels of the particular point but what I am talking about is all the possible snap points of an object coming up when you are over that object(or within the snap radius of the object) - it does a similar thing in Form Z... Glad to see you monitoring the list! Thanks!
