If you Save As the file to the desktop with a completely different name, and get the error that it failed, does it create a VWX on the desktop anyway? Does it appear to be the right size?

Its looks like even though the option is labeled "Automatically update out of date reference during file open" that in practice and in the Help description it actually just updates any references with this setting enabled upon file opening. Either its not working properly, or it is working properly and is mislabeled. However i'm guessing the former. Submitting as an issue now.

You can attempt closing Vectorworks, then replacing the modified workspace and see if the problem is still resolved. Normally the problem is not specific to the customized workspace. But if it is and you see the same problem after reverting back to your custom workspace, then yes unfortunately the changes would have to be made to a new workspace all over again.

They are still handled as separate object types due to the various formats we need to be able to import and export. You can convert objects all to polygons if you want them to all register that way for Select Similar or Custom Selection etc with Modify > Convert > Convert to Polygons. Or use whichever tool works best for the situation.

Did the answers above not work for you, or there is something else you want Vectorworks to be able to do that wasn't addressed?

Confirmed, the geometry comes in thoroughly exploded in both Vectorworks 2013 and 2014. C4D as well as a few 3DS viewers open the file as expected. (a long table with brackets) Submitting now.

1) interactive editing of auto hybrid cut planes, similar to the UI for clip cube. 2) Outline Only mode for Auto Hybrid objects, or another method of controlling the complexity of the linework other than smoothing angle, to allow for varying degrees of outline detail. Submitting now.

Would the outline alone accomplish this, or are there other things than line style, opacity, color etc that are currently not under your control that should be?

Clip Cube views can be saved within Saved Views, so you can save different arrangements of clips, if thats what you mean? Or is there another aspect of it that you mean to save?

Confirmed. If I use spacebar for boomerang mode, it still allows me to select the clip cube instead of panning. Middle-click for panning still works fine, but its obvious something needs to be fixed with the spacebars boomerang. Submitting now.

In testing- (Hardware used was the iMac in my signature) CustomRW, all set to Very High, no indirect lighting, no AA: 40 seconds CustomRW, all set to Very High, no indirect lighting, AA on: 7 minutes 28 seconds I have not seen AA (Anti Aliasing) slow things down that significantly before, but I will check and see if this is abnormal or if the problem lies elsewhere. In the meantime, do you happen to have this file or its source in the 2011 format as well that I could test with? Testing this sample now. Overall speeds should NOT be slower -especially when rendering- in 2014 compared to 2011.

If set the same, on the same hardware (as long as its above minimum specs) Renderworks in 2013 should be about the same, if not a little slower than 2014 in most of the renderworks modes, however a few of the 2014 defaults are a bit higher than previously. Also, do you have 3D Conversion Res in Vectorworks Preferences set the same on both the older and newer versions in testing? That isn't file specific and can change the speed between two versions. (The majority of the rest of the settings are normally document preferences and should remain the same if the file was simply converted up to the new format.) If these are all set the same and you still get slower render times in 2014 compared to a previous version, send me a file where this happens and I can have a look: tech@vectorworks.net As for the cloud team responses, most likely thats what happened, I'll forward this along and see that they have received your question.

You should be able to highlight the tool in the workspace editor, then press the Delete key to remove it. If it has a hotkey, I think pressing delete once removes the short cut and pressing it again removes the tool itself.

Where is it showing upside down? In their version of ACAD, a viewer, or even when you import the DWG back into Vectorworks?

I think maybe a step further and just have a "Simple Outline" or "Exterior Only" mode of all locations where Hidden Line is used, not just in Auto Hybrid. In some situations, altering the smoothing angle in Line Render Options lets you achieve this look, but having it available as a simple checkbox would be much better, thoughts?

I agree. Especially if a third party plugin, used by thousands of users has had these features for years.

I'm not sure on the specifics, but any time that a 3rd party plugin is integrated into the base version there are a LOT of steps that have to go through. Unfortunately on occasion this has lead to a 3rd party plugin vanishing, being gone for an entire version, then showing up the next year or later in the default builds. Don't know whats involved in that whole process, if its engineering work or just red tape, but Windoor is definitely one I'm pulling for.

I want to see Windoor included in all localizations of Vectorworks for SO MANY reasons...

Mine behaves the same as you describe. Not sure if its broken (however it works the same in all versions I test it in) or if it was just not ever a feature, but it should definitely include opacity in addition to pen and fill style/color, since opacity is very much included in the overall concept of "Attributes." Submitting a request now, in any case.

When you say change the text to a letter, do you mean to convert written words into a single letter of the alphabet? Or to alter the font?
