  1. Does the page size not changing only happen when you Print, or when you export to PDF via Publish as well?
  2. Wish looks like its already in the pipe! I'll add this to the request.
  3. Tools > Workspaces > Workspace Editor > Edit a Copy of the current Workspace That should duplicate and allow you to rename the currently active workspace while keeping everything included, such as palette positions etc.
  4. How many bounces is indirect lighting using in this rendering mode? Which rendering mode is this?
  5. Thats coming in chunks as each component becomes ready, I do not suspect it will come all at once, but it is definitely in the line. If I could give specifics I absolutely would. Apologies for the vagueness on topics like this but it's outside my control.
  6. You aren't able to create a template with these settings? Or do you save them and they simply don't apply afterwards when you create a new document from the template?
  7. Post a test file with that texture in it here, and we can have a look.
  8. For some modules it is in AEC(Or Landmark or Spotlight, depending on the workspace) > Create Objects From Shapes in the more recent versions.
  9. In that case then the most appropriate way to deal with it would be via an option that can be toggled on/off. Those that have paid for the latest shouldn't have useful features stripped for the sake of those running older hardware. Or is the Clip Cube due to be removed for the exact same reason? This is exactly my point of view. No need to hack off everyone's leg because some people can only find one shoe.
  10. Working on them now! A few more pressing areas are getting attention first (Worksheets, the newest tools like Taper Face and Twist) but they're coming. I know C4D export has a number of wishes in currently to improve/include the mapped textures/materials. I'll submit one for Artlantis now if I don't find one listed.
  11. You would not be able to open a file they saved directly, unfortunately. They would need to use File > Export > Export to Vectorworks 2012, then you would be able to open the exported 2012 formatted VWX.
  12. For highlighting I can confirm it doesn't check everything inside the viewport. We discovered that during testing for another separate issue where Intel graphics cards were showing a solid orange highlighting for things like groups/symbols/viewports that have a bounding-box style highlight. I would guess that more than likely it would only have affected awful/old integrated cards that have difficulty with highlighting but otherwise work fine. Cards like the ones listed in your signature and mine would likely never have seen it, but Intel GMAs, HD 1000-3000 etc series definitely run like cold concrete if they come across anything not optimized for them yet in Vectorworks. You'd be surprised how many users try to work with Vectorworks on very underpowered hardware. I'll see if I can get more details for you, but engineering rarely give tech support direct answers that aren't true. (Mainly because we will descend upon them like an angry NERF-gun wind.)
  13. From what I understand the Vectorworks Graphic Module (which is what controls OpenGL, interactive appearance highlighting, things the clip cube does, but NOT regular Wireframe) isnt hurting because of being 32bit, however it may very well be to mitigate a problem that won't be solved until later. If I can find out for sure I will post!
  14. It wasn't the text objects or callouts etc themselves, but having Vectorworks trace out the geometry/text with the interactive highlighting specifically. The graphics card has to do the work when that orange highlighting is used, so when it goes and starts tracing very detailed objects it slows down general moving around and zooming. The slowdown would have also been negated by a user disabling interactive highlighting altogether. This was seen as problematic enough to remove the highlighting entirely in the current version. I've put in a request to have it be a controllable interactive appearance option for users, since many with more powerful graphics hardware may never have encountered that problem.
  15. Right click on the database header row, then choose "Edit Criteria" and you can use More Choices to add Layer - Is - "Layername" to isolate one layer of objects.
  16. Could you send me or post here an object that you know to have failed in this manner either when repaired as an STL or during slicing? Trying to get some specific examples other than worst-case-scenario test files i've made to submit for this kind of thing. Mostly likely this kind of tolerance would help with overlapping/intersecting surfaces that create problems for 3D printing as well.
  17. Confirmed with engineering it was indeed an issue that was patched specifically in SP2.
  18. Yup, love Dan's stuff! For anyone reading who isn't familiar with what we are talking about: http://www.vectorworks.net/guides/Remarkable-Renderworks http://www.amazon.com/Remarkable-Renderworks-By-Daniel-Jansenson/dp/B003HDTCD8
  19. Not sure, but I don't think I've read that one yet, just the Remarkable Renderworks one so far for 2014.
  20. Also: If you check "Rasterize Text" in the PDF export options, does the font then appear correctly? The text will no longer be selectable in the resulting PDF, but this info helps us see whats happening.
  21. I'm more in the camp of "well if we didnt have the conversion issues, users wouldn't need to keep multiple versions in the first place." Which is something we very much have control of and are working to improve.
  22. Apparently this highlighting could dramatically slow zooming/panning when viewports are highlighted and it was removed to speed things up. I will submit a request to make this feature user-controllable.
