  1. Try using PDF. I use it all the time and it works great.
  2. I now have the 2.3 G5 and chose to order the X850 video card with it. The computer is definately faster. However there are video issues. One issue is that the screen will become pixelated, similar to how peoples faces are blocked out on TV with a large pixel mask. The computer becomes unusable and I have to restart. Another issue is Open GL performance. The image will distort and become unusable at times. Apple sent me a replacement card, but that was not the solution.
  3. I agree. I dread having to ungroup and roof object and turn it into faces. It becomes so tedious to work with faces.
  4. You could try printing to PDF first and then using that PDF on your PC to see if that makes a difference. Why not print directly from the Mac to the printer?
  5. I had that happen under OS9 when printing to a desktop printer. It seems that the image was too memory intensive. I would experiment to see what you can find out. Try printing to PDF. Try reducing the resolution of the images. You should be able to determine if it is memory related or otherwise through this kind of troubleshooting experimentation.
  6. David, that is a great idea. Could you elaborate on the filepath concept? I am not sure what this is and how it would work.
  7. Welcome to the forum. If you look in the upper right corner of the page, you will see a search link. Do a search for PDF printing and you will find all the info that you need. I use PDF and it works great. It allows me to share files with consultants, clients, and yes, printers.
  8. quote: Originally posted by bruce_oilers: Would the print center be willing to download the free VectorWorks Viewer application? They can print from that as easily as you can. They just need to have the same fonts. The VW Viewer is an option. I have not used it. However I think that PDF is far superior. Why force someone to download a single use application such as Viewer. With PDF you can send the file to anyone. You have full control of what sheets to print and how they look. The fonts can be embedded as well.
  9. Go to Vectordepot. There is a plugin there that updates when you print. Don't recall the name of it or version compatibility. I used to use it under VW9.
  10. I remember past discussions where it was stated that there is a maximum size that VW can handle. It is a pixel dimension, not just paper size. You might be able to do a search on this board and find the info. I agree with the others. Try a lower resolution image.
  11. Thanks. I will have to study that.
  12. Thanks. I will have to study that.

  14. I feel your pain! I have had this work, then not work, then work again. Sometimes I thought I was losing my mind, as I was not able to always replicate my sucess. I wish I had an answer for you. Moving to 10.4 has increased the printing problems all the way around. I have not attempted batch print under this new operating system.
  15. You need to list your number as 01,02,03. If you use 1,2,3, they will be out of order.
  16. Is the Detail Bubble only available for the Mechanical Series? I do not see it in my Architect version, and the help menu shows it as a Mechanical item.
  17. I have found that running a disk repair utility from time to time shows problems with the drive that I was not even aware of. May I suggest that you run such a utility.
  18. The Vectordepot plugin does update everytime that you print.
  19. Robert, As far as the Curved Window Wall inserting into a Curved Wall, I cannot get it to work. Sure it drops in and cuts the wall. But it does not do so in the manner that you would expect. The results are maddening. Can you explain how to accomplish what you claim is possible? VWA11.5.1, OS10.4.2
  20. I am trying to create a curved window at the corner of two walls. IN using the Curved Window Wall tool, it seems to be able to join with one wall, (with unpredictable results). The OIP says Curved Window Wall in Wall. But can the Window Wall be made to cut and join with both adjacent walls? For now I have the Curved Window Wall as a stand-alone item with the adjacent walls butting up to each end.
  21. Robert, thanks for all of your help. It looks like the plug-in was to blame. I installed a new Window Wall Curved plug-in and that appears to have fixed things.
  22. Take a look at Vectordepot.com for a Date and File Stamp plug-in.
  23. Thanks Robert. I have played with the parameters and gladly accept your offer of emailing. What is your address please?
  24. Robert: It says Window Wall (Curved) in Wall. I also note that the mullions thicken upon insertion to the wall. Take the Window Wall out of the wall and they return to normal. Also, the vertical side mullions are raised. They extend above the top horizontal mullion and extend above the bottom horizontal mullion so that the sides and bottom are not touching.
