  1. Anybody now where to find a plugin to get a POSER figure to transfer to VW11 with it's clothes rendered intact?
  2. I just tried to do the same thing. I had to change each drape to a nurbs surface and then map the texture to the surface.

  5. Ok... I've posted this(sort of) before. I am opening 10.5 docs in to 11.2 and get a error almost everytime I use a menu generated custom selection command. Is anybody else having this trouble???
  6. Well, I'm not writing my own... I am using the "custom Selection" menu tool and choosing the "create script" option at the end. I've used this countless times. But now when I open a VW 10.5 drawing into 11.0 I get the above error message. In VW 10 when I created this "command" it was lsited as a command in the Resource browser and showed up in the command pallett but now after createing the "selection Command" it is listed as a script and does not select anything when activated. is this a bug??
  7. I've recentlly had a problem getting my custom selection command scripts to work properly. ISLANDMON has told me how to do a fix-a-round the problem but it seems to me that this should not have to be fixed in the first place. In VW 10.5 I would create a script using the custom selection tool and would choose "create a script", and everyting worked fine. Now I open VW11 and the commands do not work, I get an "error: right parenthesis expected" message. I then try to re-create the script using the smae tool in vw11 but the command is not listed as a script and it still gives me the same error. Does ANYBODY else have this problem?? Is this a bug?? Can I fix this problen or do I have to "fix-a-round" everytime??

  9. Ok... HELP. I create a custom selection script(it used to be called a command) and then I activate the custom selerction script /command and I get the messge"error:right parentheses expected) HELP me fix this please
  10. with a strong enough graphics card you can do a live walkthru using open GL
  11. Update all your drivers..UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE EVERYTHING. Clean out your registry file.

I try to insert a 2/3d symbol that I created and it tells me it is not a valid 2d symbol but when I switch to top View the same object inserts just fine as a 3d symbol... here's the rub, I switch back to 2d and the symbol looks just fine. In the Resource browser it says that the symbol is a 2/3D object. How can I fix this... is this a bug... or what>??? Running 10.5.1/ PC/ 2.0 MHZ / gig'o ram

  17. Here's a new one. Anybody have a clue why VW would just disapear? NO warnings like a slow moving curser, NO beeps like when scrolling thru a drop down list to fast, NOTHING. I had just clicked on 'Mapping' when trying to map 'Wood/beech' to an extracted surface and POOF, gone!! I'm running 10.5 on a PC 1GB ram 2.8GHZ updated Qicktime, all the right stuff I tought. Is it the Texture form VW or what... any help would be greatly appreciated so I don't loose my work again.
  18. Have you tried to make all classes visable?
  19. You should be able to double click on the symbol to edit and then just select the Loci and change the class...... in theory.

  21. I created a scrim using the grid pattern in the "new texture" dialogue box. It seemed to work rather well. RP on the other hand gets a little trickier. I'll try to dig up what I did a couple of years ago and post it.
  22. Ya'll won't believe this but I finally finished a 30 second annimation and handed it off to our video department and they asked "why the hell is the file so big???" We deduced that the annimation was rendered at SCREEN resolution...DOH!.... I guess I never really knew that, so I lowered my screen resolution and reduced the size of the initial rendering frame and ran the same annimation for a test. The original took 7 days to render the 2nd attempt at a lower resolution took only 1.5 Days. THANKS for all the help!

  24. I agree with Travis. The ONLY way I truely learned VW10 was to just have a go at it. Start with a simple project and pound thru it.
  25. I think you can go in to the work space editor and set hot keys for what you want.
