  1. What does the bounding box look like when the symbol is selected, is it bigger than the symbol?
  2. I'm not sure what you mean, Pat is saying to remove everything from the workspace folder.
  3. Import to the scale intended by the creator, you are probably importing at a very small scale.
  4. Try removing the Designer Workspace file from the workspace folder.
  5. You may have a bad DVD. Try copying the contents of the DVD to your hard drive and install from there.
  6. It's always a good idea to disable any virus protection, firewalls, etc. when installing anything. Try that and post back if you are still having problems.
  7. Call tech support at the numbers listed on the page your link points to.
  8. It happens to me and it's always from the same people. I usually don't need the text so I do a custom selection and delete it all. If you do a custom selection of text and uncheck Wrap Text it will get rid of the long text box, but may be worse that way as some text will be all in one line.

  12. There really is no math required on your part. Find something that has a known dimension, draw a line between the points of the known dimension. Highlight the dimension in the OIP and Copy. Select the PDF, Modify menu>Scale Objects. Check Symmetric By Distance, paste the dimension you just copied in Current Distance, enter the known dimension in New Distance.
  13. Here's a thread on the subject, this is the only other time I've seen this on the Techboard. http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=133375&Searchpage=1&Main=27413&Words=%2Bcan%27t+%2Bchange+%2Bfiles+%2Bmenu&Search=true#Post133375
  14. Sorry, no. Why not use PDFs?
  15. I don't think there has ever been any software that could to this. Adobe had a stand alone app out a few years ago that didn't have much better results.
  16. Try switching to a different workspace and see what happens.
  17. It's new in 2011. In 2010 you can turn them off in the snap palette.
  18. It's working for me. Did you put it in your user folder? You named it Default.sta? Mac: HD:Users:(Your Username):Library:Application Support:Vectorworks:(Version Number):Libraries:Defaults:Templates Windows: C:\Users(Or Documents and Settings)\(Your username)\Application Data(Or AppData)\Roaming\Nemetschek\Vectorworks\(Version Number)\Libraries\Defaults\Templates
  19. I did a search on "patterns" and the first hit is Creating Custom Patterns for Fill and Pen Styles. I'm on VW 2011 though. Go to File menu>Document Settings>Patterns.
  20. In Vectorworks Preferences under the Session tab check the box Create a new document on startup. If you hover over it with your mouse it explains how to have a custom document open.
  21. Do a search on "pattern" in Vectorworks online help. Help menu>Vectorworks Help.
  22. You could try updating to Service Pack 1 as a temporary fix. It sounds like you may have a bad DVD. Contact your supplier and request a new one.
  23. How are you switching? What happens when you try?
