The wrench + pencil icon in the tool bar opens the 'Plant Preferences' dialog. The 'Settings...' button in the OIP opens the 'Plant Settings' dialog. Or there are various ways to open the 'Edit Plant Style' dialog. All of which contain the 'Root Zones' pane. Are you using Landmark? And VW2022?

Aha Rendermall plants are a different beast. The VW Plant Tool only comes with Landmark/Design Suite

Ha! I figured when you asked. That was a semi-wasted effort. But thanks, for a few minutes, I thought I was losing it. Of course my wife, would have said--that happened years ago.

🙂

Well--at least I have site modifiers!

Where in the world are you finding that stuff?

I know I was not meant but ....

(I use VW Architecture and have no experience with Landmark Tools at all),

I think I had it just in the back of my mind from reading VW 2022 + SP

release notes or watching VW marketing videos 🙂

For me the highlight is just that Walls and its Components are real Solids now.
(Looking forward to future Slab's adaption to Solids)

And that VW is Apple ARM native already and a few more things.

Therefore VW 2022 for me the greatest upgrade ever ....

Yes it's always the most unnecessary things (only) I can always remember 🙂

If I get a trigger ...

Until VW 2022, Wall Geometry was build by some kind of Face Geometry.

So when exporting to DWG you did not get Solids in and basically had

no chance to Stitch these faces together. So you could not do much with

imported VW Walls.

Now with VW 2022 you can ungroup Walls and get true generic solids

to edit with direct modeling tools.

And now they export fine as true Solids to DWG.

(I also see that Columns also export as Solids, without unwanted geometry

rests from deactivated column features and Windows are mostly Solids too.

Just the Slab's Components are still a construct of Floor Objects and Stairs

still produce terrible geometry for Exports)

Ok many thanks for explaining. I never export to DWG so that doesn't affect me but I was completely unaware of the fact you could Ungroup a VW2022 Wall + be left with textured solids!

What I would really like however is to be able to use a command like 'Add 3D Object to Slab...' (+ subtract) on a Wall to be able to '3D model' a Wall without having to turn it into Generic Solids...
