Stu Wilson
Hi All, Running a report for a playlist and it seems to miss half the plants that are on the drawing. Any ideas on what could be happening? Quote Link to comment
0 Jeff Prince
@Stu Wilson Are all your plants on the same design layer? Is your plant list set up to look for plants in the layers(s) you put them on? Quote Link to comment
0 Stu Wilson
they are all on the same sheet... I have no idea about the second part of your question. Quote Link to comment

0 Jeff Prince
This was interesting situation. Stu placed his plant objects in the viewport's annotations. I've never that before, not sure why you would, but the software certainly allows it. Anyhow, after some testing it appears as if Vectorworks will not report plants that are placed as viewport annotations using the standard plant reporting tools. Not sure why that is either. Moving the plant object from the viewport annotations to a new plant design layer resolved the problem and everything reported nicely. Quote Link to comment
0 Pat Stanford
Jeff, can you try and edit the criteria of the report and see if the check box for Object in Viewport Annotations is checked? If so, do the objects get counted properly? Quote Link to comment
0 Jeff Prince
@Pat Stanford I tried that for Stu's file and it generated a list of the plants and symbols, just not an actual count for some reason. Quote Link to comment
0 Alasdairjsy
I have a similar problem with plant schedules for a planting plan and wondered if its linked to the above. My planting plan is for a large border and so for presentation on the sheet layer I have shown half of the border and then used data tags to label it up. The plant schedule (report) then shows the numbers for the whole border and not just the half shown. Is there a way to set the criteria so that the report just shows the quantities for half the border? Thank you... Alasdair Quote Link to comment
0 Jeff Prince
@Alasdairjsy put your plants on two different design layers based on your layout. Then use criteria to limit the plant list to displaying just the design layer seen. There are several similar ways to do it as well using database criteria. 2 Quote Link to comment
0 Alasdairjsy
Hi Jeff Thank you for the reply, I'll give that a try. I was hoping the worksheet would just pick up the data tags on the sheet layer. 1 Quote Link to comment
