Have set up a remote operator (dropbox) to make sheets while I stay modeling...wow wow wow! Side point...sheet makers need 64gb ram... this has really speed up the work flow...Nice job VW Edited March 27, 2019 by digitalcarbon Quote Link to comment
digitalcarbon
So yesterday was the first time I used Project Sharing on a real project with a dead line...(tinkered with it before) Had no problems...at the end of the day I had a bunch of sheets "magically" appear in my file...wow! It does work well when there are natural boundaries between the people working. Quote Link to comment

As in one person modeling the other presenting and annotating. Or two people modeling but different zones in the building, basement and tower but leaving podium for traditional conversation based coordinating. Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
Yeah we love Project Sharing too. Where it gets difficult—as Matt has pointed out—is when each of you need to work on objects in the model that are in close proximity: https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/62516-how-to-minimise-things-in-a-project-sharing-file-that-will-restrict-editing-by-others/ Edited April 1, 2019 by Christiaan Quote Link to comment

digitalcarbon
I understand the reason for the checking out concept but Imagine a Basketball team needing to check the ball out every time someone got the ball and then they had to type in a comment as to what they did!! The game would take forever. While Project sharing is going in the right direction it needs to be live with no dialogue boxes popping up every click... Quote Link to comment
