Josh NZ
With styled walls is there a ways to edit the height of components for a specific wall without having to create a new wall style for that instance? For example I have a styled wall with 3 components, I have set the inner (3rd) component's height to be 50mm below the wall height. I have about 5 walls where I need this height to be different for each. I know I could achieve by duplicating the wall style 5 times, editing each wall style and assigning each sryle to each instance of wall I want to have a different component height. however this isn't efficient. I know too with say slabs there is a way to add/remove sections form the selected components rather than the whole slab. Thank in advance for any ideas/methods. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Do you need these different heights for a single Story ? If you need different Component Heights for different Stories only, you could achieve this by separate Levels for each component and manually adjusting Levels heights for each Story. (I asked for since 2014, to exclude Height Settings from Wall Styles but getting additional height Tags) Quote Link to comment
Josh NZ
Hi Zoomer Got a whole lot of walls on one layer and several have beams over, need to adjust a few components to suit beam seating. Quote Link to comment
AlanW
@Josh NZ. Hi if you have a few beams why not create wall recesses from AEC to suite your beams. Quote Link to comment
Josh NZ
Thanks Alan, I've tried that and seems to work fine. the only problem which relates to an older post, is that my wall has a component which represents the internal lining, this is classed, and that class is turned off. Once the wall has a recess this component shows up even thou that class is off. Edited June 28, 2017 by Josh NZ Quote Link to comment
AlanW
@Josh NZ Se attached to see if i understand your problem. This is all on a wall class but we are looking at placing all the components on separate classes. Wall & Beams.vwx Edited June 28, 2017 by Alan Woodwell Quote Link to comment
Josh NZ
Hi Alan Check out the file I have re attached. I took your file, assigned a class to each of those components, then turned some of those classes off. I put a couple of screen shots above the wall. Michael H.
When I do recesses into walls to cut out components, I put the recess into its own class, e.g. Wall-Component-Recess. I turn that class off and the cut out shows correctly. Quote Link to comment
AlanW
@Josh NZHi, See attached file. I always set the components to by class and deal with the textures in the classes. Look at the breakdown of the wall components. HTH Wall_&_Beams_001.vwx Quote Link to comment
