Vectorworks, Inc Employee Neil Barman Posted April 3, 2017 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 3, 2017 With the recent SP3 Update for Vectorworks 2017 and the improved performance of 3DConnexion's Spacemouse Radial Menus, I'm curious to hear what other people are assigning to their Radial Menus... What about you @JimWand@Luis M Ruiz? Thanks in advance, -Neil Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted April 3, 2017 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 3, 2017 For when im stuck without a full keyboard, I use them for the standard view mappings. I still paw blindly at where the numpad should be before I remember it's not there, but then the radial menus save me from taking my eyes away from what I'm working on, love it. If the unit I had already had buttons for those, i would probably fill the radial menus with the various 3D editing tools I use the most. (Shell, Push/Pull, Extract, etc) Quote Link to comment

zoomer
Currently I don't use Radial Menus in any App. (Although I set one each for Modo and C4D) So far I tried to use my 12 display buttons for Commands. The other problem is that I have my Wacom Cintiq with its Remote (= 17 buttons). And Cintiq would allow bigger Radial Menus with more than 4 entries. And I set the Remote to 80% have basic keyboard functions like ESC, TAB, SHIFT, CTRL, .... for left hand use, as I have no physical keyboard (reachable) but use a micro onscreen keyboard one/right handed by Pen only. Which are quite redundant when used together with the those buttons on the Enterprise. (But where I miss the CMD key !!! for macOS) I think using both devices without any redundancy is too much for my memory. I still need a printed sketch with button assignments for different Apps for only the Wacom remote beside my Screen But Radial Menus are certainly the way to go. I have to care more about these. BTW So far I tried to circumference Radial Menus by expanding and rearranging my Workspace RMB Options : Workspace > Menu > Object Context Workspace > Menu > Document Context To include, order and separate Tools. Which is a bit more powerful than just 4 Entries radial. Quote Link to comment

For my radial menus I have: solid operations, add, subtract, intersect and section. for my second radial menu is all rendering or view modes: fast renderworks, hidden lines, custom renderworks and open gl.
