dimension tools and attributes problems

When drafting in plain old 2D Top View, I can't get the attributes (.05 and white) to stay when I use the linear dimension tool.  If I switch the color to red, and then draw a rectangle for example, then switch to the dimension tool, the line weight will switch to .05, which I want, but the color of the measurements stay red and won't go back to white. Can anyone help?

I think you need to use classes for dimensions and other objects. If you just change the attributes it won't automatically change. Draw on classes and your attributes need to be set to all by class. HTH

Alan is probably right but you should also check whether your dimensions default to the dimensions class and are automatically taking the attributes of that class.

Document preferences > create dimensions in dimensions class (check box)
