Its been hacked more like. Its happened a few times before.  If only I knew what it said!

Yes, it is a rogue user/spammer. It looks like a website for something but even Google translate can't make much of it with automatic translation.

 

Update: looks like the forum admins just got rid of this stuff.

Theyre coming, the issue was because of a vacation unrelated to my own (though I offered to take the blame, they declined.) and should be up soon.

Also, going to turn up the anti spam settings a notch. We had them very low to make it easy for everyone to transition to the new forums, but now that most people are settled in it's safe to raise it a bit for new registrants that appear suspicious.

All kidding aside, it's a bit annoying it is happening again. I guess the "AI" of the spam protection is not yet up to speed.

Well this one isnt a spambot, it is actually a person which is the hardest type of spam to stop. Spam protection grabbed 6 of their accounts automatically last night and hammered them now that it's been turned up a notch, this one got through.

 

I could increase limitations on new member posting but I don't want to overly restrict regular users coming in and asking questions.

Yes, persons spamming are harder to stop than a spambot, complicated by language as well in this case (unless the spam hammer can also read non-western language instead of only relying on word patters).

 

Given that this forum is really low on spam incidents I don't see a need to turn up the spam defence even more than it is at the moment.  Not being limited with too tight posting privileges outweighs the incidental spam for me.
