0 zoomer
Plus, It would be nice if under scores "_" would break the Symbol name the same way as minus "-" does. (No this aren't new Smileys ) Quote Link to comment
0 Benson Shaw
+1 Assign colors in lists! +1 Show number of instances. With thumbnail? Right click Context menu? Hover with magic wand tool? +1 Select all instances, and/or all visible instances. Context menu item? Still thinking about the others. -B Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
+1 Show number of instances. With thumbnail? Right click Context menu? Hover with magic wand tool? I would like to see it in the icon as for me it is more important to see if a Symbol is used (at all or too less, to clean up as there are always too much*) than if it is n+1D. Meanwhile i have 3 steps of hierarchy in Subfolders. +1 Select all instances, and/or all visible instances. Context menu item? Right Click would be fine for me Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
Plus, when I Replace a Symbol by an other one, I want to see all Symbols in the path ! Even the current Symbol. Maybe the current Symbol is grayed out. I really would prefer to accidentally assign the same Symbol again instead of totally loosing overview. (I remember the order of the Symbols from resource browser when I inform myself if there is a better suited Symbol, before I click replace. F.e. There are 2 similar Symbols, I'll choose the other one. When I get the selection of Replace, everything looks different and I don't find my Symbol because I expect to look for one of the Pair, but there is no pair anymore.) Quote Link to comment
0 Andy Broomell
Another thing: When you delete a symbol from the resource browser, you currently get options to either delete instances completely or replace with loci. There should be a third option which converts all existing instances in the drawing to groups. Then it would no longer be a symbol definition but you'd still have the objects in your drawing. An example of this being needed is sometimes after importing a Sketchup model there are hundreds of symbols, each named something like "Component #158" which don't need to be symbols. With this new option you could quickly select the unwanted symbols in the resource browser, hit delete, then convert them to groups. Quote Link to comment
