I agree that the default is set the wrong way.

Currently, I believe the default is to update all out of date viewports when printing. You have to opt out of it.

I'd like to see the default to be off. But I like your idea of having an option to only update SLVPs inside the page area.

Agree, except - I often want to rerender those off page VPs, so keep the OIP update available for each VP.

My off page VPs are usually there for comparison, rather than unused standby.

I imagine there are off page VPs in work of almost every license, even though it's not a "by the book" work flow.

So, I am thinking the best proposed solution would be, rather than the "Update visible out of date viewports prior to printing" would be a radial button menu with the options:

O - Print without updating viewports

O - Update all out of date viewports prior to printing

O - Update all out of date viewports within the print area prior to printing

O - Update only selected viewports prior to printing ("Select Viewports"BUTTON) - The button would take you to a dialogue that allowed you to check/uncheck any or all viewports within the document.

Is there another scenario this new set of options would not cover?
