Title Block: ability to display current revision letter/number separately

Question

We'd like the ability to display the current revision letter/number separately from the list of the revisions, and have it automatically update. See attached example.

ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=7006&filename=revision.png

While we're at it, can we also have the option (somehow) to have the revision in the name of the PDF when Batch Exporting?

Indeed, we need another column in the organisation window for revisions. Surely coming in v2013.

Anybody know if this half baked feature has been sorted out yet in 2013?

I am just about to start the process of adding different revision numbers to over 100 drawings it would help to know if they fixed this bug.

Does anyone know if this problem has been sorted out yet. I have had to manually put the current revision in each sheet since I started using VW - and it is a real pain.

It is really frustrating because it must just simply be a record field with we should be able to reference.

It is also interesting that you can only have one instance on the :rNo or any other revision data on a sheet - Why???

Hi Kevin,

June first I'll announce my website containing custom Vectorworks2015 plug-ins.

You will be very interested in the revision manager.

It is a separate dialog that allows you to control all revision and issue data.

Some of the key features that extend the default behaviour:

  • You can add/edit revisions/issues on multiple drawingborders at once.
  • You can assign the last revision letter/number + date to titleblock fields as you request.
  • You can control the date string giving you a lot of options.
  • You can use the global mode which only keeps one set of data used on all drawingborders.

The following image is a screenshot of how the dialog looks like.
