zuken86
Good morning, I am just wondering if there is a way to quickly select all objects by class and right click to access class visibility options. Can I modify the popup panel shown when I right click on an object? Thanks, Quote Link to comment
VincentCuclair
You can change it through your workspace settings..... You can use the magic wand tool (which you can assign a keyboard shortcut (double clicking directly activates the dialog box for setting up selection criteria) for selecting specific objects with specific criteria. CipesDesign
Yes, you can use the "Custom Selection" (or "Custom Modification") command to either immediately select or create a selection script and object type/class/layer/etc. And yes you can add or delete contextual (right click) menu items via the Workspace Editor... VincentCuclair
There is also the visibility tool with which you can hide/grey objects individually or through certain criteria. Here's a script you can run to toggle visibility: http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=32437&Number=159597#Post159597 Edited December 14, 2011 by Vincent C Quote Link to comment
zuken86
How do you create that break (------------------) in Object Context panel under workspace modification? Quote Link to comment
Miguel Barrera
Workspace Editor->Menus and under 'New Menu' drag the 'Separator' to the menu layout on the right box. Quote Link to comment

VincentCuclair
No, just put them in the Application Support>Vectorworks>2012>Plug-ins folder and then add them to your commands in your workspace. Quote Link to comment

zuken86
Vincent, I did what you said and Vectorworks seem to recognize the script but the script does not work? I modified my workspace and added your script under View. I created a simple object and put it in its own class...With the object still selected, I went to View --> Toggle Class Visibility...but nothing happen? Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
zuken86 - what are you chasing over and above what the Visibility tool already does? Quote Link to comment

Huy, when you run the script all classes that are visible become invisible and all classes that were invisible become visible. If you want to make a certain element/class/group/selection/type invisible use the Visibility tool with the specific options you need..... Quote Link to comment
zuken86
Thank Vincent. It works just as you described it. @Mike: I was just trying to figure out a quicker way to hide/unhide a class without opening the class visibility panel every time. Quote Link to comment

Mike is referring to the tool that does just this, see the screen dump i posted earlier, the tool looks like an arrow and an eye........ Edited December 23, 2011 by Vincent C Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
zuken86 the Navigation palette allows you to do that. Unfortunately for you that particular functionality isn't included in Fundamentals. Quote Link to comment
zuken86
Yup I do not see that tool. Fundamentals is very limited! Quote Link to comment
