Trim to break line

Recommended Posts

Yes that's why.

It would be a very useful addition to the tool however.

I've seen where some users create a custom symbol for their break line complete with one-side-masking.

Another alternative it to Convert to Group (or ungroup) it to reveal the polygon which you can now trim to.

Indeed, Matt Panzer created a plugin.

It is free, although everyone should buy Camera Match.

This tool creates an editable poly break line that that masks with it's fill and will greatly ease your pain.

This one is for version 2011 but might work for 2012?

Shame on VW for not offering something similar out of the box.

Actually just now I placed the version 2011 break poly into my 2012 plug-ins folder and I can't find it in my workspace editor so....?

Actually, since my 2012 version was open when I installed, I had to close it and reopen it and VOILA! I have the breakline.

Thanks Matt.

You're very welcome BC,

Actually, I just made a small tweak to the PIO an hour ago. The PIO has an option to place text in place of the breaks along the line. This gives you an easy way to draw lines and polygons with text along the segments. The problem is that it would use the current document font settings whenever it regenerated. I fixed it to now use it's own font settings (by selecting the object and setting them through the Text menu).

I just uploaded the latest version to the same link:

Thanks for your kind words on CameraMatch! :-)
