exxodus
Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is a way to tell Vectorworks the origin point for a hatch? For example, I have a 300 x 300 tile hatch but currently I am not sure how it decides where to start the hatch. On Acad you are able to tell it to start the hatch from a point [click] - you then have an accurate representation of where the tiles will actually be. Thanks in advance for your help. michaelk
Yes. The attribute mapping tool in the basic tool palette. Select the object, click the tool. A box will appear in the hatch. You can move, resize and rotate the box to change the hatch. hth Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
- Select the hatched object. - Activate the Attribute Mapping tool. - Move the bottom LH corner of the rectangle which appears to where you want the hatch origin to be. All as shown in the Easy Mapping of Associative Hatches online video: http://www.nemetschek.net/library/index.php?movie=2010movies Quote Link to comment
exxodus
Thanks guys, Sorry, total newb here. The attribute mapping tool is not giving me the "box" you say would appear . . . . Anything I move moves the entire hatch but nothing within. Any suggestions to what I may be doing wrong? Thanks again! Quote Link to comment

Jonathan Pickup
then use Hatch... from the Modify menu Quote Link to comment
atari2600
Prior to the "attribute mapping" tool, I used the ceiling grid tool for all my basic square-like hatches. I could then set both the origin and the respective hatch size. I could also rotate it. Quote Link to comment
