ChadL
I have a curved truss in my drawing and need to hang drape on it. Is there any way to do this without drawing many little pieces of drape? I am working with VW 12.5 w/renderworks. Thanks Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
Could you extrude a wiggly polyline from floor to truss? Assumes plane of curved truss is parallel to the floor. -B Quote Link to comment
propstuff
Rather than extrude a wiggly line, Use a wiggly NURBS curve for the top edge of the drape and a different one (if you want) for the bottom curve, then Loft between them. This will enable you to have both edges hang whatever way you want and have the folds hang more like a real drape. Edited November 1, 2010 by propstuff Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
I haven't chimed in with this because it only works with VW2009 or newer (and Chad is on 12.5), but our SoftGoods tool does exactly what he is needing. One of its features is the on-the-fly creation of curved curtain PIOs - with adjustable end-points, arc diameter, height, etc. See the link below if you're interested in more info... bcd
Try it with 2 wiggly nurbs. Identical except scale the topmost by 50% in the y -direction. and center them on both axis Select both. Model>Multiple Extrude - enter your drape height. Quote Link to comment
