lit fog density

Anyone figure out how to adjust the denisty of the lit fog in 12.5?

I've looked up old posts for versions, so I know the fog density is set by layer, but I can't find any way to adjust it.

Is it a type of background?

Yes it is a background, and can be edited from the resource browser. Look also in the Help under Backgrounds.

to use lit fog you need a fog background. You will find that in your resource browser. Double clicking on the background will open up a dialog box to adjust it's properties.

How and when does the background get generated? My Renderworks Background folder had 6 unnamed lit fogs.

Is there a way to control which fog is assigned to which instrument (or drawing level)?

Backgrounds are assigned by layer in the layer dialog, so if you want different fog denities for differnt lights, you need to place the lights on different layers.

You may have one lit fog background for each layer that a light is on?

You will only see lit fog if you have lights with the "lit fog" box checked. They will then illuminate the fog of whatever layer they are on.
