mar schrammeyer
when i try to fit wall to roof i get two spikes downward to minus wall height manually i can not add a vertex, same problem, it does not happen with every wall in the file Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
is there anything else on the roof layer. If you don?t have your roof on a separate layer, try it. it works better that way Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Mar, I have seen this anomaly a lot. It seems as if the wall(s) which exhibits the strange downward spikes has been corrupted somehow. You can (usually) solve the problem by deleting and replacing the wall. HTH's Quote Link to comment
Ken
It's a bug when you select multiple walls, even if some are hidden with classes. I've reported it as a bug. You should report it too. Sometimes it helps to select ONLY one wall at a time. Quote Link to comment
mar schrammeyer
thanks for the replies i had to duplicate and move a similar wll on that layer just redoing would give the same result Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
There is a need for an Undo Fit Wall to Roof command which will return the wall to its original height with a horizontal top. Two reasons: - When the Fit to Roof command results in the spikes referred to above it can be difficult to fix the wall (you have to resort to manual 3D manipulation). Sometimes you can delete the spike vertices and sometimes you can't. When the latter occurs you have to replace the wall and start again. - If you move walls around after an initial Fit to Roof the command needs to be run again. I have had instances where the program has hung with the result I have had to Force Quit. With one instance after 3 such 'hangs' I gave up and redid an hours work to start again with fresh walls. A simple undo Fit Walls to Roofs command which returned walls to their initial state would overcome both problems. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
A work around is to create 3d Polygons specifically for the Fit Wall to Roof Procedure. Assign these working polys to their own RedLine Class. Similar process for Fit Wall To Terrain. Quote Link to comment
