Splitting a 3D object

Recommended Posts

When trying to add a curved stage using the arc tool and extruding it to the stage height AFF, how do you split the object at the ends of the arc so that you can fit the curved part of the stage with the rest oScreenshot2024-07-07at9_44_18PM.thumb.png.cdcce485485d5add93c044f98ed6c09d.pngf the stage?

Go to Top or Top/Plan and use the Split tool.

Or draw the arc and set the fill to none. Draw a line between the arc end points. Select the arc and the line and Compose. Then Extrude.

Or create an extruded rectangle that starts across the arc and encloses the entire curved part of the arc. Select the arc and the box and Intersect Solids.

Or probably a half dozen other ways.

  1. draw rectangle (stage)
  2. draw arc (curved thrust)
  3. select both
  4. right click > add surface
  5. (menu bar) AEC > Floor...

that will give you a hybrid object that looks good in plan view

also check out the stage plug tool if you need more options (could help downstream with documentation)
