Create Hanging Position Tool Moves 2D Geometry

Hi All,

 

I've been using the convert to hanging position tool in Spotlight and after converting 2D & 3D geometry into a hanging position, the 2D geometry seems to be moved far away from where I drew it. Has anyone else run into this issue/ have a potential solution?

I regularly come across this issue, particularly if rigging is not level (at an angle - for example truss is at a 10 degree rotation). The way I combat this is by removing all 2D geometry in the symbol and leaving it as 3D.

This could be an origin issue, Would be good to double check.

Sorry for the delay. Yesterday got away from me.

I tried to recreate my issue this evening, and it is resolved. 

 

Embarrassingly, it seems my machine was just struggling at the time and a hard restart was all it needed.

It may well be related to this thread about a bug with symbol creation - 

 

I know that creating a hanging position makes a symbol so it would be logical it would be affected. Was the hanging position you created originally away from the origin?

 

This bug was submitted and confirmed. I don't have a tracking number.

Possibly, I always 'use geometry'. instead of making a symbol so might explain why I had not seen this.

I was utilizing the "use geometry" feature as well.
