Not within a legend but what you are describing could be solved with data visualisation. 1:25 in the following video

    Vision 2020

Hi Anthony, In terms of preplotting kinesys motors you will have to do this by assigning the balls as a dmx transform, giving them a dmx address then you can control an axis (Z) as a 0-255 dmx value through attend or Sacn. You cannot unfortunately connect a kinesys control system, yet.... I am hoping one of my colleagues will respond to your ndi network question. All the best Tom

    Vision 2019 SP3 MVR Improvements

Have to agree with Tina and Cory from a UK perspective. however most prospects using capture are looking for ease of use and not needing to redraw or swap geometry on import. (Referring to capture workflow). I am a long term Vectorworks user who used to export to capture for visuals A lot of the Vision eccentricities can be overlooked if send to vision worked flawlessly in terms of syncing all information (and I mean everything, perfectly). It is a visualizer not a separate application. it is cheaper than wyg though! keep up the good work it’s nearly there.

    2d/3d Label Legends

So you can have a legend that displays in both 2d and 3d. A 3d label legend should only display in 3d and 2d the same. You also need to tell the fixture in what view to show the 3d label legend. This can be done in the OIP or by double clicking the instrument. Would recommend using classes for 3d field labels for this. Best Tom

Hi Greg, so you can make multiple selections using find and modify or shift and click then you can doubleclick a fixture edit the colour slot and click apply to all.

    New to Vision

I understand and can empathise that this is a less than ideal process at this moment in time. Obviously it only affects generics as regular LED and colour mixing sources are fine. A lot of the designs I do now are mostly LED fixtures so I find that I have to do this process for only up to 24 fixtures. watch this space!

    New to Vision

Hi Greg At the moment (I cannot say more), You will need to enter the colour info in vision or it can be done in vectorworks through this video

    Venue With Multiple Setups

Referenced could work. providing people are evangelical with filing. I think a layout within the same file is easier to edit Or you could also duplicate a layer and rearrange in the event of a slightly more unique version of your standard setup. The other idea I had was to make the whole layout a symbol?

    Venue With Multiple Setups

Layers, Classes and Saved Views, Classes for different options and saved views to toggle their visibilities. File save as template. Then once project signed off, delete classes (check delete objects) completely. All the best Tom W
  23. I am working on a UK Spotlight template, However I am concerned... I have set up a class mapping to prefix classes brought in embedded in symbols. I am wondering does the class mapping save within the document? Would the Spotlight user require The Class/Layer mapping tool function in their workspace in order for their file to work? Would imported symbols begin polluting their organization structure?

    Default 3D Legend View

Thanks Mark, This is great, I might also try to add it as a feature in the label legend manager dialogue.

    Default 3D Legend View

3d Legends are applied like Jesse says above, however I cannot see a way to make sure all of your fixtures display a 3d legend view to front or right by default. I have tried editing the light info record defaults through the spotlight preferences menu but it seems to be locked out. I tend to put a default fixture on a position with al of these options pre set, then I duplicate that fixture and replace with symbol as appropriate, this saves having to select multiple instruments and selecting 3d view. Unless anyone can find a way of pre-setting this I will make a feature request via Jira. Thanks Tom
