Tatiana Petrova
Hello, When I place a door or window in the wall - there is an issue - the caps of the wall turn to be thin on the plan. Is there something wrong with the window settings? In object Info - Full break with caps and Full break without caps - it's the same on the top plan. I use Vectorworks 2017. Thank you Quote Link to comment
Kevin K
Tatiana The issue is not with the wall, but with your 2d window settings. I am using VW 2024 and can't exactly remember in VW2017 if it is totally the same, but if you click on the settings option for the window, you will see you can choose '2d visualizations' and set the thickness of your choice for the window (or door). Kevin K
Tatiana, sorry I was half asleep when I responded to your post.. I meant you can change the 'line weights' for the various parts of your windows and doors. Quote Link to comment
Tatiana Petrova
Hello Kevin Thanks for your respond. Unfortunately, this didn't help. I don't have to change the appearance of the door/window - it's OK. The issue are the wall connection areas - the pen thickness of the wall components change or disappear. Quote Link to comment
line-weight
Hm. I recognise this issue, because I've come up against it in the past but can't now remember what the explanation/fix is, which is frustrating me. Can you post a copy of the file where it's happening? Quote Link to comment
_James
I agree this is quite annoying, I gave up on trying to find a solution. I can see from Kevin's image that you could match the Jamb's lineweight to the wall, but this would effect the entire jamb rather than just the junction between the jamb and the wall which I imagine is what Tatiana is trying to show. line-weight
It might be something to do with the interaction of line attributes associated with the wall object itself, and line attributes associated with the wall components. And it may well behave differently in VW2017 compared to 2023/2024. Quote Link to comment
Tatiana Petrova
Thank you all! I found the solution in two steps: 1. Wall style / Wall attributes / Use component line attributes. 2. Window/Door obj info / Full break with caps. Quote Link to comment
