digitalcarbon
So without going thru every font...how can I find a font that is similar to this in VW? I want my lower case "l" not to look like a "I" a capital "I" and so forth. Should not the font list actually show the font look without having to apply it to a text then needing to scroll down again? Quote Link to comment
mjm
All fixed width fonts on my MBP show a version ion both your lower case 'I' and your lower case 'l' Andale Mono Monaco Menlo SF Mono are all available on my machine - however I DID cheat and use Font Book.App😃 Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
As of VW2024, the Font option in the Text menu does show a basic preview of what the font actually looks like. Or at least what "Sample" looks like in the font. If you are trying to find a similar font, there are a number of websites that will ask you questions about a font and try and tell you the name of the font based on your responses. Or if you only want to deal with fonts you already have, use @mjm's trick and just scroll through Font Book. In Font Book you can put in your own sample text and see what it will look like in each font as you select it. 1 Quote Link to comment
digitalcarbon
ok thanks. I may have to go to the web site. @Pat Stanford do you have a link? @mjm thanks but now I have another problem. I applied one of these fonts to my spec sheet and now I need 2 sheets if I use these new fonts. Currently using Times New Roman. Edited November 7, 2023 by digitalcarbon Quote Link to comment

So that's the thing with mono-spaced fonts, they mostly take up much more space. Some variants might offer a 'compressed' version. Maybe look over here as a starting point. 1 Quote Link to comment
rDesign
Google “condensed monospace font” and you’ll find a bunch of options. Quote Link to comment

Several <https://www.fontspring.com/matcherator> <https://www.fontsquirrel.com/matcherator> <https://www.myfonts.com/pages/whatthefont> <http://www.identifont.com/> I think I have tried all of these. Not certain which one I liked best or worked best for me. Quote Link to comment
