Unconstrained linear dimension not "visable" in VectorWorks 2022 Spotlight.

 

When I draw a dimension using the Linear Dimension Tool the line shows but has no dimension listed for the line. This happens for Constrained and Unconstrained Dimension Tool, on some drawings the dimension tool works fine, other drawings the dimension is blank.

Check whether the dimensions class is either turned on or has pen attributes set up correctly.

Also check scale and drawing pref for scale text. Dimension text could be too small to see unless zoom to it at center of the dim line.

And there is an option in the OIP for "Show Dim Value" if that is unchecked somehow you will get the line but no text.

 

I use that occasionally on Not to Scale objects to hide the true value and display a value I type into the Leader or Trailer fields instead.
