DSmith2300
Hi, just starting using Connect / Combine tool. 1. instructions terrible and not very clear in explanation of operation. 2. Doesn't work anyway. I Selected multiple lines. In 'Connect Single Object' mode I hold Alt and touch the selected lines (they all highlight) then select a boundary object (a poylgon)... Nope: "connect / combine failed" Research into forum says this is a legacy bug and perhaps never fixed. Any advice? Quote Link to comment
0 AK9997
I have the same issue -- the Connect/Combine tool is very temperamental. I am trying to link together various curved segments into a path (so I can get the square footage) and the tool is killing me. If anyone has a solve here, I would appreciate it. I am using the most current version of VW on a Mac. Quote Link to comment
0 Pat Stanford
Combine/Connect only works on objects that have exactly coincident end points. If the ends are not identical, then it will not work. Zoom way in on the junction between the curve to see. Or look at the coordinates in the OIP of each end point. If you have overlapping ends, then the paint bucket mode of the 2D polygon tool may be a better choice. 1 Quote Link to comment
