cad_monkey
I have been sent 10 set of survey input data. The site do not intersect one another but they do align to make a a complete site. Is there anyway to 'compose' them to form one site model? Quote Link to comment
0 Tom W.
Can you not import all the survey data then select all of it when you make the site model? What form is the data in? Quote Link to comment
0 cad_monkey
Hi Tom - thanks for your input. It's Eastings Northings & Height Survey input data. So all as excel files. Do you think it might be possible to adjust the edit the site boundaries, so they overlap and then add them- just a thought!!! Quote Link to comment
0 Tom W.
Is it not possible combine the data into a single excel file then import it? 1 Quote Link to comment
0 cad_monkey
Hi Tom, Yes I did think of that when making a cup of tea!!! I'll try it and revert back. Quote Link to comment
0 VIRTUALENVIRONS
I agree with with what Tome W. has told you, seems the simplest way. If it does not work, can you answer the question below. Does your imported site model(s) look like this, polygonal. Quote Link to comment
0 VIRTUALENVIRONS
I ran this video up quickly. This might solve your problem or give you some ideas. Virtual Edited March 22, 2023 by VIRTUALENVIRONS 1 Quote Link to comment
0 Benson Shaw
@cad_monkey Was combining spreadsheets successful? Seems simplest. I think this should also work: Create 10 separate site models from the separate data sets. Probably easiest if separate vwx files. Extract the separate source data and combine in a Host DTM. A copy of DTM #1 file will be the aggregate Host Process - Open DTM #2>Recreate from Source Data, select all, copy to clipboard. Open DTM Host>Recreate from Source Data, Paste in Place, exit the Edit, Update DTM. Open DTM #3>Recreate from Source Data, select all, copy to clipboard. Open DTM Host>Recreate from Source Data, Paste in Place, exit the Edit, Update DTM. Repeat DTM #4-10 Purge to eliminate any coincident vertices each step. Probably could exit/update at end instead of each step? If “vacant” areas between the surveys, fill with GIS data. Also, if design work allows, single DTM may not be necessary. Several DTMs can coexist and function properly in a single vwx file. Site Mods are assigned to specific DTM. -B Quote Link to comment
