Christiaan
Is it possible to do this shape with the Structural Member tool. It's a beam, for beam and block flooring. 2 Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
Yes absolutely. Create your own 2D symbol then choose 'Custom' as the Member Type then click on 'Select Shape' + search for that symbol: either from any open file or save the symbol to your 'Structural Shapes' user folder to access it at any time. 1 Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
Thanks Tom. Had my blinkers on because I had a Style selected, so Member Type is greyed out. You have to convert to Unstyled first. Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
oo yes I forgot they were styled now... Be interested to see how you are constructing this floor (in VW). Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
I usually do beam and block simply as slab components but I want see if this is a better way. I don't think there's any way to create the custom profile symbol so that can make use of these settings is there? Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
Not seen a big VW cross like that before! I think that means 'no you can't put your custom symbols in the structural profile application folder'! Shame. I guess just need to save a few versions of the symbol with different sizes + pick between them... 1 Quote Link to comment
_James
I think it would be good if Slabs, Walls and Roofs could create repeating objects such as beams, studs, rafters rather than creating a 'zone' in a slab object that one then fills with beams etc. It's good to dream! Quote Link to comment
